Dear xxx,
After speaking to a few friends who have recently sold their houses it has become apparent that it is quite common practice for Estate agents to share the details of people viewing the house with the vendors. I would find this information particularly helpful and so would request that you share this information with me. I've been advised that this shouldn't breach GDPR however if this is a concern for you, please request consent from the relevant parties before agreeing to a viewing.
Best wishes,
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time and trouble to prepare this letter for me. It is truly heart warming to receive so much kindness and help from the wonderful people in this thread. Thank you so much- a brilliant letter!

If you are unable to obtain their consent, or are otherwise unable to provide me with a viewer's name, together with confrmation of their financial viability and progress of any sale they require, my consent for viewing is not granted.
Best wishes,Dear Greatcrested,Fantastic- thank you so much for taking the time and effort for the well thought out and excellent additional wording and enhancing an already perfect letter. I am ever so grateful to you. I am overwhelmed by the great advice and practical help I have been given. Thank you thank you- I can't thank you enough- you've been so kind.0 -

no they are not allowed to do that when I asked for the viewers' details. Unbelievable eh!.

newsgroupmonkey_ said:thing is, I understand that they may not give the full info - John and Jane Smith, but they might say "They're called John and Jane" or "Mr and Mrs Smith". That's not unreasonable surely?
It never even crossed my mind that they wouldn't share that info- not an unreasonable expectation to be told the name of viewer at the very least.

I am also in Scotland (and a conveyaning paralegal so know a bit) and as well as the emails that my EAs sent for each viewing (that I've already mentioned) they would tell me their position, ie, cash buyer, FTB, house on the market etc. So I knew they were working for me to make sure I was getting serious viewers. Plus, I live on my own and so would always want to know who was turning up on my doorstep!Ah HummingBird76 thank you so much for this- you are in the legal sector dealing with property transactions so you are speaking with authority and experience of such matters plus you've had a recent personal sale so thank you also for sharing the details of the level of service you got from your EA- that is what I was expecting but it hasn't turned out like that. I am not being told diddly squat. May I ask what % commission they were charging for this efficient service? They certainly did their homework on each viewer and were good enough to share this info with. You really need to know this type of stuff so you can decide who is genuinely in a position to buy etc.And it is only fair that the owner of the house knows who they are letting in- Hence my distress at being told otherwise. Thank you HummingBird76. Thank you for taking the time to explain the standard one should expect. I am very grateful to you.0
