Went to PS I Love You in Edinburgh tonight and found it a pleasant enough film. Unusual seeing Gerard Butler playing an Irishman given that he was a few years above me at school in Scotland so I spent most of it picking out imperfections in his accent!
A real girlie film, lots of cackles of laughter throughout (although not by me - still trying to find flaws in that accent!) but I think the audience was generally pleased. A really good cast for it - Kathy Bates, Gerry, Lisa Kudrow, Hilary Swank, Harry Connick Jr..........although it was quite amusing when Lisa Kudrow came on and there was a very audible 'Phoebe' from about a third of the audience (and not just the youngesters who were there). A nice girlie story about a woman finding her feet (boom boom - 'in joke' for those who have seen this) in life after the death of her Irish husband (who I know is Scottish - he's Scottish I tell ya'). Not remarkable at all but a reasonable way to spend a few hours.
Cinema probably about 75% full which is about average in my experience for these freebies (apart from the God awful 'Superbad' which was pretty much full).Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Our screening was about 2 thirds full, lots of giggling from some girls around me. I wish though that I hadn't read the book - I spent the entire time comparing: This wasn't in the book! This is different! They left out this and this and this! But it was an agreeable enough film, though the story felt somewhat rushed at the end. And for the fact that Gerry was supposed to be dead, he sure popped up during a lot of scenes!Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Don't bother with Lust caution. All subtitles and was basically chinese !!!!!!. Well you never know, you might be into that! Was really long too!
Obviously opinion only!0 -
I went to see The Kite Runner (Cardiff Odeon) you could hear a pin drop WOW is all I could say what a fantastic film brilliant would definately buy this on DVD
Really liked the film - one of the best ive seen in a while. Its mostly subtitled but I didnt feel that it interferred with my enjoyment of the film, make the effort to see this its brilliant need a box of tissues at times though0 -
Maybe the tip about taking a box of tissues is more apt for Lust, Caution:D0
