  • We always try to get there early so that we can grab the premier seats so hubby can have something more solid up his neck so that when he falls asleep his head doesn't lull around!!!!. Just for the record hubby not big on going to the cinema and usually does under sufferance - sometimes its just better to leave him at home!

    ......................

What are other peoples preferred seat locations?

Nearest and most frequently used is an Odeon (ex UCI)

The back 3 rows in each screen are PREMIER seats. (Normally £1 extra)

    Sitting selection.
1st priority - PREMIER seat if at all possible
2nd priority - near as central to the screen as possible
3rd priority - as far back as possible.

Sometimes a trade off between 2 & 3 for "the better overall" position

The PREMIER option is definitely the best.
Leather suede seats rather than cloth.
Wider (about 12.5% ?)- only 8 in a row where the normal seats have 9.
Much greater leg room - others can easily walk by without you having to stand or twist your legs awkwardly.

hubby and I took dd2 to see a film(can't remember which one but obviously child friendly) at bluewater, in the end we had to move as the sound effects from behind us were very graphic. Now I know its a free film, but by god theres a time & a place.

    I swear, it wasn't me!

They have some sort of 'premier' seats at my odeon but just appear to be seats in a different colour with slightly more padding but not much extra room and the screens are so old & small there isn't much raking, so if you sat there the screen would look not much bigger than the TV screen at home with lots of people heads in the way!!

Judging by the sounds they were being made by no angel :A even an undercover one!:rotfl:

Our local vue has just been revamped and they have an evolution screen now that has bean bags, sofas & premium seats- costs couple of quid more but so comfy. Although I avoid the bean bags as I am rounder than I would like to be and suffer from arthritis so could make for a great youtube clip watching me trying to get up!

LOL!! sounds like a perfect description of me, arthritis included. We had to sit on bean bags at home for nearly 6 weeks while we were waiting for sofas to be delivered, it was a nightmare. :D

I've found a cure to stop hubby nodding off, a double espresso cappuccino at Caffe Nero before the screening. He told me it wasn't very 'Moneysaving' lol! It was yummy though :j

do you think they make the beanbags out of the un-sold popcorn? :rotfl:

They probably do - at their prices they probably have alot left over.

I've now gone for the "celebrity" look - a handbag as big as my house with sainsbury's popcorn inside - much cheaper. Only hope that none of the cinema chains bring in airport style xray machines otherwise I'm stuffed.

Still trying to figure out how to cook a hot-dog at home and keep warm til I get to the screening though!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
