Just go to the ticket collector and the correct screen and use your printout as you would a normal ticket. They usually have a small paper poster pinned up in the bigger cinemas telling you what screen to go to as it won't appear on the normal boards. :)
  • It won't be long until we'll be discussing the Oscar results...
Who do you want to win in the big categories?
    IMO:
    Best Film TWBB
    Director Coen bros.
    Actor Dan Day Lewis
    S. Actor Javvy Bardem
    Actress Ellen Page
    S. Actress idk
    Haikus are easy

Best Supporting Actor - Casey Affleck (and he should have been in the best actor category)

Best Supporting Actress - hard to choose between Saoirse Ronan and Tilda Swinton but I'll go for Tilda :)

    Best Actor -Daniel Day-Lewis

Best Actress - I've only seen Elizabetth and Juno but I've heard the others gave great perfomances so couldn't really choose. :o

    Best Picture - Atonement
  • For me -

Best Film: Atonement by a mile!!

    Best Actor: Daniel Day Lewis

Best Supporting Actor: Philip Seymour Hoffman

    Best Actress: idk

    Best Supporting Actress:Sairose Ronan

but think DDL will be the only one I am correct on

is that a hidden reference to the character he plays?! if so, very nice touch! if not, lol anyway!

Both of you want Atonement - I'm afraid that's looking unlikely - I haven't seen it but it wasn't nommed for Best Director, and that's a telling sign on the part of Oscar

LOL yes and no, they sometimes make some strange choices for whether they are lead or supporting. His character's name is in the film title and really the film is more about his character. I did think Brad Pitt put on a really good performance too and should have had a 'supporting actor' nomination. Having seen 'The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford' last year and 'There Will Be Blood' just last week, although DD-L put's on a fantastic performance, I think the former is the better film. :)

I love Atonement I read the book just before the film came out and I think it's a really faithfull adaptation and I agree that neither Keira Knightly nor James MacAvoy had as astounding performances as some others I think the film as a whole should get some sort of nod as it did at the BAFTAs.
  • Yes its a pity TAOJJBTCRF was overlooked by Osky...
fab film and yeah, you're right he should've got nominated for best actor, but I think Pitt had enough screen time to warrant a nom in the same category (and he deserved it too)
One of the things I love about the film title is the extra emphasis it places on Pitt's character (larger font) than Affleck's

It really captivates a major theme of the story, doesn't it?
Anyway yeah its a pity it didn't get many noms

Elskie5 and Beate thanks for the suggestion. Such a simple solution I'm embarrassed I didn't think of it

LOL yes Wolverine your right about the font and also the title tends to get shortened too :p

I just searched out the full nomination list, hopefully TAOJJBTCRF will get best cinematography but 'diving bell and the butterfly' is nom in the category too but then maybe Julian Schnabel will get Best Director instead.
