I am really rather unenthusiastic about the Oscars this year. I have only seen two of the films nominated for "best film", and gave Juno better marks than Atonment. Neither of them is the best film of the year though IMHO. I remember staying up all night the year Shakespeare in Love won best film and cheering so loudly that I probably woke up all my neighbours but that is nearly ten years back and I can't do allnighters anymore and work the next day! ;) I don't even know which channel is broadcasting live, if at all?

I don't understand what all the fuss about Juno is. I thought it was a good film but I nothing to rave about and I prefered Dan In Real Life that I saw as my first free film this year. I'm surprised Into the Wild didn't get more nominations either.

Having just looked through the full nomination list, I will say though that I thought Hal Holbrook was wonderful in Into the Wild, and That's How You Know from Enchanted is a brilliantly catchy tune and I wouldn't mind at all if it got a nod as best song, as I enjoyed that film and the music in it immensely.

LOL just realised I've seen all the films in the best music category and would be happy for any of them to win it. That's the great thing about the free film previews, finally an Oscars where I've seen quite a lot of the films on the list.:j  :T
