Word going around in the industry is that Dan in Real Life maybe the sleeper hit of the year.
It's been getting good reviews from the critics! The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.

Just back from PSILY
As a RomCom there's a fair bit of Rom but not much Com.
Rather typical I'd say of this type of American movie - BLAND !
Not a good sustained belly laugh in sight (not for me anyway)
1 minor guffaw, 2 giggles, 3 titters and 4 smirks in 2 hours and 6 minutes doesn't make this film "a pleasure" to watch - just above my boredom threshold.
Can only give it 4/10

and there we have our first rating of the year!
thanks quoia!
out of curiosity, was jeffrey dean morgan any good? I believe he played the regular guy Hilary Swank gets attracted to. I'd really like to know because he has a big role in Watchmen (March 2009), and I'm a huge fan of the book. (see avatar)Haikus are easy

He was alright - I know him best from about a dozen episodes of Grey's Anatomy (heart patient) - he wasn't in an awful lot of the film since he played William, a character that lived in Ireland. She does meet him on a visit (10-15mins) and then a couple of minutes at the end.
Sadly perhaps the worst performance was Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe from Friends) - unfortunately she WAS STILL Phoebe in every way.

I'm with quoia on PSILY... I failed to be impressed, but my mum enjoyed it. I don't want to give a number rating to films as the styles and quality vary so much. Just like all our opinions vary. Vive la difference, and long live free tickets!
Btw, in showcase mcr we had to hand in our email and collect a ticket, he also wrote my name down. This was an insider screening not a seefilmfirst. I also saw a guy get turned away, I'm not sure why he seemed to have an email or computer printed screen for this film. Loads of empty seats in there as well.Just looking to save a few pennies here and there0 -

I saved on printer ink and paper - just took my Insider card to the ticket desk (as stated in the email) - all they needed was the membership number.
Regards the screening - there were between 40 & 50 in a 193 seat cinema.

Ps I Love You. I ran this film through to see if ok today before I showed it to the public. Agree with what quoia ,but then I am a male.
Only thing I could not get over though. Just could not get used to Hilary Swank's teeth.:D
Thought they were too white and out of proportian to her mouth and head.
I know, strange thought! :rotfl: :rotfl:The more I live, the more I learn.
