Does getting car service done means it will pass M.O.T guarantee ?

Say I got it serviced in the morning, done all the fault it brought up, drove it across the road to a different garage for a Mot?
Will it pass for sure?
If not, why not?
What isn't being done in the service that could potentially fail M.O.T?

There's a lot of things that a service might not cover that an MOT will test.
It all depends on what "a service" means to you, too.

Why not just take it to the same place for both the test and service - and if your preferred garage isn't a tester, ask them to take it in...?

    No.

Depends on what level of service you have.
a "change the oil & filter service" could fail on anything
a "full service with MOT pre-test" and it should pass as they basically do an MOT.
a "full service" and it could still fail on emissions, a cracked windscreen, corrosion issues, brake imbalance, seatbelts, numberplates to name a few off the top of my head.

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

So let me ask in a opposite way.
If I completed a major service and some 'items' make it fail the MOT(even advices), does that mean the garage who done the MAJOR service had not done the job properly, ie mention it to the customer about these potential faults(?)

Servicing isn't fault finding, it's carrying out a prescribed list of checks, and changing some items (eg oil, filters). An MOT is specifically checking for safety-related faults.
What is the point of your question?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I think the point is that Pkman took the car for a service, then took it for an MOT, and was rather miffed when it failed the MOT.  They now think it's the servicing garage's fault.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Haha, but fortunately it's not, it is a make up story, I just asking for my own knowledge.
