The parking attendant who gave the ticket has opened Pandora's box. The legal department at VCS should have had the common sense to cancel this ticket.
Do you really think he has a legal dept ?? ... more like a desk backing on to another desk.

I have my own legal dept next to my desk, it's a German Shepherd dog,

I would very much doubt that he does not have a legal advisor.  This is a large company that goes out of its way to get up peoples' noses.

They may not care but they ought to if they want to keep in business. They are pushing the public further and further and they will only stand so much. This is very bad PR for VCS.

However it is probably these that will finish Excel and VCS

sorry have to disagree a parking company like this does not give two hoots about what people think, it will not have any effect on the parking firm and it will not effect their business model or income in any way, whilst it may not be a nice story, it is already history and no one really cares, it will get one or two people angry but no impact

It is highly doubtful that they read the tabloids though ... the Daily Fail is probably the most downmarket paper they may read.
