I took my car for a mot and it failed on it's horn
Does nobody do even the most basic checks before taking a car for a test...?
I check things like bulbs and tyres but I didn't think about the horn. In the 28 years I've been driving I've never had a horn fail but every car the horn has been covered from the wind and rain.

Without a tick-list it’s probably the easiest thing to overlook to be fair. Another one is the rear number plate bulb/s;...very easy to overlook especially if you’re checking in daylight.

Since I passed my test over a hundred years ago I’ve probably used the ‘horn’ on just a handful of occasions in situations where it was actually needed,...however, it is a legal requirement and it’s good practice to check it periodically.

There’s a guy who passes my home numerous times a day and he thoroughly tests his horn each time he passes a certain house just down the road;...it’s a bit tedious,... and illegal !

I would be astonished if there's a single garage in the country that can't take plastic.
Stand by to be astonished, Adrian.

My local garage in Kidderminster, which I have used for more than 30 years, still won't accept plastic.  They take cash.  They'll even take a cheque for an unlimited amount, but they won't take plastic.

Maybe it's something to do with them not putting VAT on any bills (but we don't mention that).

It's only illegal if he does it between 2330 and 0700.

Or to "test" it rather than warn other(s) of your presence. Certainly not to "admonish" someone.

I’ve never heard him at night to be fair but definitely heard him before 7am on occasion. I guess there must be some beef between driver and householder because it stops for a few weeks,..then starts up again.
