Let's hope there is no issue with the parts or the fitting of said parts.  Up some creak otherwise...

I agree with AdrianC. Even the smallest one-man band corner garage I have dealt with still accepted debit cards.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I would be astonished if there's a single garage in the country that can't take plastic.
They do but when it failed and i spoke to the man who did it he asked if i wanted to supply the parts and just pay cash for the fitting which i have done and took the term " cash " to mean pay cash and no invoice ,i know cash under the counter could be looked upon as diss honest but thats their worry not mine.
    Ah.

Cheap off-the-books job, no VAT, no tax. Just cash in pocket.

I'm surprised he's saying "you supply the parts" - because, normally, they'd just grab the roll of cupronickel, bag of unions, and flaring tool. Parts cost for a couple of new brake pipes is pennies.

They are rear flexi brake pipes ,about £31 each but you always get an on line code for Eurocar parts so both hoses £48 .The garage could have ordered them but could not make them like a steel brake pipe.

Why not ask the garage if they'll take card or cash. If you are aware of the tax implications of paying cash then yes, it could well be your problem.

Indeed. On one level, aiding and abetting fraud. On another, all the tax evaded has to be paid by the rest of us.

Ah, it's the flexis... Sorry, I thought you meant the hard lines.

Definitely not a worry for continuing to use, then - they'll just be cracked on the external rubber. The inner liner will be fine.
