More bird pics... I came across this wee one when I popped outside to throw some food out. It must have just fledged because it still had little tufty bits on it's head and an obvious gape. Plus it was the teeniest blackbird fledgling I think I've ever seen
I wasn't even sure what it was until I saw Daddy blackbird standing guard.

It's just occurred to me that I would have missed all this action in the garden if I'd still been working - every cloud has a silver lining...'A watched potato will never chit'...8

And congratulations on having one of the best wood burners around. Made in Devon, naturally!
Apart from a squeaky door, we can't fault ours.

Our door squeaks occasionally too
I'm so glad we've got it though - best thing we ever did.

Beautiful bright Autumn morning here, sunshine and showers today. They say.
Lovely cheerful pansies Farway, I'd leave those in tooJune Drop, well that's fine but I've already lost more than there is left
Could July just hurry up already?!
Hurray for tiny babby blackies and for getting a sparrow safely out ppI like your mossy log too!
My previous life - years ago I was married to an RAF fellah, and our first posting was Staxton (Scarborough ish), so I spent a lot of time up round Whitby and Malton/Pickering, sometimes up to Yarm area. It turned out he wasn't a very nice person actually, so one day I scooped my important things into my handbag, lifted my coat, put the dog on his lead and walked out the front door. But being posted to Staxton, and then Alnwick meant I got to see a lot of north Yorkshire. It really is beautiful
How's your hedgehogs 2p? Are they traipsing through like a train now you've widen their hole...? That's a great rose pic, the 'moon' in the top left corner makes it looks like one of those clever taken in the night shots. LovelyYour Kevin line made me laugh
I hope the docs are happy with your progress wort? Did you successfully fib and tell them you'd been laid out on the sofa eating nothing but oranges and watching intellectual telly? Actually it doesn't matter what you say to these people, they don't believe you
Has the crow wised up yet Dusty? Or is it still attacking your neighbours' car? Mind both of those are a win eh
I knocked my Galileo bobbin off the windowsill this morning when I opened the curtainsAnybody else with one take extra specially good care of it cos the clear liquid in them is a sort of greasy petrol something or other and it's really hard to clear up. So now the whole house stinks, even with all the windows open

A very wet morning so far, can't see much gardening being done here, but I do really really want to plant out the broad beansI'm dreading thinking about my cherries, this rain will have bought the snails out, and I bet the cherries are now decimated, which is why I never get anyFound out why the delivered compost was so good, it's a peat based one, yay and a poke in the eye apologies to virtue signallers everywhere concerned environmentalistsOnly garden thing this morning is my runners, recently potted on, are up. I'll get a pic later.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5

Hers's my contribution to the pic collection. I took my self out yesterday and saw bee bums and coos and a couple of things that reminded me of 2p.
Those last 2 haven't come out very well. They're charming in real life, but not enough for the price of them(No cost of living crisis in Posh Town.)

Lovely stuff Bluey. I'll have the cows pleaseI think you asked when I got around to the housework? Well the bonus of living alone is that it can be left if something better is in the offing. Nobody calls when its looking pristine either.Farway I only have one cherry left! Between the pigeons landing on the area and knocking them off and the storms.I managed to defeat the blackfly stuff that weakened the tree so it's got a healthy bunch of leaves now so fingers crossed for next year.As long as I have the tree I have hopeOh I'd love a log burner, fire envy, but my place is made of cardboard so not a good idea. Some sort of fire is on the list to sort out but not easy down in the sticks. The electric ones are noisy with fans and I can't be doing that in the background to relaxing. There's open gardens this weekend. £10! And the cost of teas eyewatering. Lunches last sitting 1.30. getting quite professional. It's blowing and showery and not sure what's to see after the storms. So still thinking about it. Pre pandemic I went round so many and decided that I'd be better off doing my own than looking at other peoples. However it's like going would be putting the new era back into normality again.Be good Wort
Don't get carried away with the weekend.
I think the others have gone to the grown up threadI admire what they do but taking my efforts seriously is something I left behind with my youth.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I had intended to squirt it, but it rained, and is still not done. They may have drowned by now
