Maybe they were cashing in on renewed interest.

You maybe don't need to send an email 2p, or if you already did then it's worked
I have one window and lots of tabs for this forum and when I refresh a tab it goes to the right place - either the top of the board or the next new post. Is yours better now too? Re your neighbour, do you get on alright with her? If so I'd try the 'kill it with kindness' routine - tea and cake and lots of sympathy. Oh it must be awful having a house full of rowdy kids again, son must be desperate for his own place is he? What kind of thing is he looking for? Has he seen thingy house on wosname road? This is the time to house hunt they say, the spring bounce has finished so he'll probably get a bargain now... etc. She might feel a bit stronger to address the issue if she knows she has an ally.
I'll be interested to hear the answers about saving geum seeds too taff. The one I bought the other week there is my first one so I don't know either.
Lying, now I think about it it seems like we were always at itI remember the time we got caught eating the middle out of granda's butterfly buns. Cousin used to make a big tin of them every week for they were granda's favourites. I can't remember now how we figured it out but me and sis used to turn them all over and eat the buttercream out of the middle and put them back in in the tin. Granny thought that was funny but granda did not so she had to tell us off. Or the time me and another cousin thought we'd make granny a new bolster from all the feathers the ducks and geese would drop when they ran towards you for a good feed, or when they were fighting over it. But it wasn't going quick enough so we used to sneak into the meal house and feed them a dozen times a day so we'd get more and more feathers. I lied and claimed complete ignorance but she just sat and stared at me silently 'til I admitted it. The worst one was the time me and another cousin got caught running races up and down the huge piles of grain in the back shed. An uncle caught us and told us off - yous are lucky yous didn't sink to the bottom for the rats under there would've eaten you alive, sure next time I'll leave you to it. Now, go in and see your granda. So we walked back to the house with our feet cut to ribbons from the spiky grain, and granda made us soak our feet in salt water to clean the cuts. We never did that again that's for sure. Sorry, that turned into a bit of an essay
That sand martin bank is heart breaking pp, even if they are returningI agree with Dusty, is there someone with a bit of juice that you could ...make aware of the situation...? Put your pics all over facefook - Whodunnit/SaveOurSandbank stylee. Some people love being angry, you just need to find them and get them onside
Those ‘clips’ look pure useless gf, they don’t look like they’ve any grip to them. If you’ve got a Boyes/£land near you I can recommend my ones
OT It's been a beautiful morning, cool breeze with a bit of sun and blue sky. When I checked today's weather yesterday it said cloudy and cool all day with a westerly wind. Now they're giving rain from about 1100 ish and lots of itI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6 -
Definitely praying for karma over the Sand Martin nests destruction. When it first happened someone did alert the authorities and the perpetrator said "aw soz, we didn't mean to, it was a contractor"... Aye, right... The birds are coming back, but it'll be years before it's anywhere near the size it was, if it doesn't get 'accidentally' bulldozed again that is...
Thanks for the Hesperis ID, Dusty. It looked lovely all along the path.
It's raining today and feels chilly - set to be like this for the rest of the week. Oh joy.'A watched potato will never chit'...5 -
Cloudy and cool today but everything is so dry..........weird isn't it when its either sodden or baked.Rain forcast for this afternoon and this time I hope so because I need to get on with extending the veg patch and get more stuff in.Dentist this pm - if she doesn't cancel again. I'm well wound up now. Middle of the day appts scupper the day I find because you don't want to get dirty in the morning and later you can't be bothered.Love the 4 geums for the price of one
Really cheers up your day.
Good clips as I said, in Poundland. No, tablet not picking up MSE. And saying on the forum bought no response.Alls quiet on the Western Front here. Bluey, she's gone from fraught to 'I've got my baby boy home and playing with the grand babies' and he's all 'I've got no responsibilities and mums paying for fibre broadband/cooking washing etc' The bouncing joy is radiating out of them. I give it a couple of weeksI put a bit of my plant that got knocked off in a jar of water and too my surprise it's rooted! So that's to be planted or potted.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Back to our recent visit to the local garden today, and staying with their veg & fruit garden. In there, was an old Messenger greenhouse, which needs its roof restored. I like the wind vane.Inside, I was pleased to see it slightly disorganised, like my polytunnel:Some lovely-smelling pelargoniums in there.... no bits fell off them!A great little corner for sowing and potting up too! That's not where I'd leave my seeds, though!"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dull & a bit chilly, with sun trying hard, so no idea what the day will finish up as.GF, those plant ring things are same as I have, and as useless, which is why I was interested in the alternatives. Looks like a trip to £land, but at least now I know what to look for.Dustyevsky said:goldfinches said:The weather here is mystifyingly peculiar, I was woken by the chill around 3am and had to resort to more bed covers and a hot water bottle then this afternoon it was so muggy that digging made me feel quite exhausted. Dull ,grey and wet here 😞 just been trying to catch up. Had my op on Saturday and now no playing in the garden for around 3 weeks! If you hear me ,tell me off.
PP I remember that photo and feeling upset about it, such a shame , would deffo try YBE tips.
Arb was it you with the rosemary? Mine is East facing but gets sun all day, dry as a bone I never water it, and it’s 3 foot tall and almost as wide. I’d cut off the brown bits. Hope it’s doing better now.
lovely bird pics, I can’t take a good plant pic never mind a moving target. Looking forward to ladybirds knees pics.
The coo pics are special, definitely cute, those fluffy coats on the babies.
Already got a numb bum from sitting around, so not my style.Farway I need to ask my sister if she’s had any figs yet from the one I bought for her birthday a few years ago.
Dusty that’s a bummer about the neighbour 😩 You’d think they’d give up now. Just awkward bar stewards.
Those thinking of propagating have a look at Insta, a lady called Anya the garden fairy, she shows really easy tips. Not tried myself but worth a punt maybe.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.7 -

Ugh, struggling atm as the pollen is really getting to me and it's stopping me from sleeping well. Now on two types of antihistamine and I'm still a mouth breather. I'm not sure the forecast is that bad, so I'm wondering if it's the variety of new plants I've got in my garden (my hay fever has always been worst the couple of years after I move house).
Did water and feed the garden yesterday (not the rosemary/herbs or fruit - the onions, beet, toms and pots). Forecast is rain tomorrow from the evening so I skipped this morning. Might have a wander when it cools this afternoon just to check nothing is looking desperate. No sign of gardener man. But new compost bin has been delivered, as have yarrow plugs, but they can keep till weekend...
Saw some lovely pictures on the thread but didn't stop to read so hope everyone is doing well (better than snotty old me)I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.4
