Taff a friend has just had that done and recovered quickly.
She was off to Tenerife a few weeks after, mind husband got her there and back. I met her walking back from lunch with friends in the village. She offered me her crutches now she's not using them
Another i knew too but he tried to resume running again at the age of 78 and that didn't go so well!
Magnificent Dusty! So that's what a sunset looks like. I've forgotten.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Wow Dusty, that is a spectacular looking sunset...2p, thanks for that info, you can rest assured I won't be doing any knid of jogging now, let alone at 78! fair play to him though for trying, stupid of him also for trying.., I was just a bit fed up yesterday, no more toys being thrown today

Jeez that's a proper sunset Dusty
Did we fill April in our calendar.... or is that May is it?
Good luck with your being-fused-back-together thing taff. Have you got a date for it or is it early days yet? Also, anyone looking for Robert Crais - don't spend any time at all searching "Elvus Cole" (stoopid phone) you'll do better with Elvis Cole  I’ll think of something to cheer you up, that’s not buying more plants ha haa!
That lilac is beautiful Farway, aptly named too. I wonder if I could fit one in... you all need to stop saying these things dagnammit! Fingers firmly crossed for you 2p it's a good sticker the person gives you a nice cutting
Aww flooded with baby birds, don't they make lovely soundsI saw a robin feeding a baby yesterday, well I'm only saying it's a baby cos it was being fed. It was full size and fully feathered, I thought baby anythings had different plumage while they're only little. #WrongAgain.
Calm and warm here today, but cloudy and a bit damp with it. We had a beautiful day here yesterday, bright and sunny and 18’. If it hadn’t been for the wind it would have been perfect.Heron can't have liked what he saw for he hasn’t come backI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6 -
Reasons to be cheerful. 1, 2, 3. (These were on our walk back from the vets last week.)
1. When you've done everything you want to do in your garden, you end up doing things like this -
2. When you've absolutely no more room at all for another bird box, you could always do this -
3. Nearly bee bum -
I was going to take a picture of the flower cos I thought the colours were beautiful, but photobombI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.7 -
ybl, no date yet, six month wait apparently...but I need to know, what's on the other side of the door? And that is such a good idea for the birdhouse!2p, did you say yes to the crutches?I'm orf to catch up GW, I haven't seen any of this series yet and was about ten episodes behind on the last one...

I wouldn't expect to run then, but I'll be disappointed if I can't still trek the wild places like those in the lovely photos 2p linked to. My cousin's 86, and he's still wending his way around the Highlands, where he lives with a lady friend! Not sure if that last one is an owl box or not, Bluey. Looks substantial. The Centaurea always look lovely, and I never capture them well enough in photos. The bee's a bonus.More joys of country living. A front spring on Mrs Dusty's car broke on me and went into the front tyre this morning. It's something they keep in stock at the garage, because of the way the roads are. I didn't hit anything nasty today, so I think it just gave up after numerous pothole encounters.

Sadly there’s nothing behind the door taff (cousin knocked on the door and asked). Pleasing though eh
Aye good substantial bird box. I could just imagine the convo - No more bird boxes, there's no room. But I've built it now! I don't care, you may give it to the neighbours. And next morning wife looks up and sees the top off the tree and a box nailed to it(It was in a park, but still.)
The colours of the Centaurea were beautiful, the centre was such a rich plum colour. I was a bit sorry the bee landed tbh but I didn't want to disturb it.
That's a bu99er about MrsD's car, but at least the garage keep them in stockIs the rest of the project going to plan?
I forgot to say earlier - happy Mayday everyoneI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6 -
Sunny and warm again, thunderstorms on the way for tonight, I think there are some spares for Dusty as well, warm & wet, ah time for some blighttwopenny said:My ornamental plum has grown branches about a foot in the last few days blocking the path.
Perhaps they got stretched with all the thrashing in the wind.Ooh, could this be a hint to try fancy training, Circles etc?I found my plum easy to bend the whippy branches down, just a thought for another grey day, you are looking out at the very ornamental plum, trained as two fingers thrusting up to heaven.-taff said:Farway, that's a lovely looking lilac. I might have to get one for my cousin, she used to compain about my uncle chopping hers down every year befor eit had chance to flower. I think she'd love that one. Coincedentally, there appears ot be one available to buy online..And I;m going to the Gardeners world spring fair this Sunday, I just thought I'd have a look and see. If there was anywhere I'd like to go it would be Chelsea but that's never going to happen with the price of tickets, the hassle of getting there and the ability to walk around, so i'll just accept a lesser oneUpshot of todays hospital visit is an op to fuse the bone so i can hopefully walk without pain. Not looking forward to another bloody op. I obviously need some plants to cheer me upGW World, not sure if you've ever been to Beaulieu Taff.My DD lives nearby, but be prepared on a Bank Holiday for huge traffic queues in the area, narrow roads etc and just volume of traffic. Don't let me put you off, enjoy it.Oh, and if you get fed up, go along to nearby Exbury Gardens. It was where DGD was doing her training last year, we used to take the grandchildren there, train rides, café & wear them out walking.Hope your bone fusion works out for youVery nice sunset pic Dusty, I don't have a clear view to horizon, not without travelling anyway, just get the red sky bit. Thanks for tip about tubs, my mind is open, it's just ease and convenience really, plus no way I could dig holes or remove the old liner.Sorry about Mrs D spring, they don't make them like they used to is an old saying but true, now days with computer aided stuff it is bare minimum of metal required to support the carSome happy pics there YBE, as you say, reasons to be cheerful are all around once we look.I went into town, mainly on grow bag hunt, failed, none in Home Bargains, came home with another backbreaking bag of Levington composted straw, only because of Bird in the Hand syndrome, grabbit while there. The first day of my tom forest being outside, fresh air, sunshine & a bit of a breeze to toughen them up.

Is the rest of the project going to plan?
I'd almost forgotten the project! It's being done to plan, but going at the usual speed of things here! We'd reached the stage of reinstating the hedge bank on one side by Monday evening.Yesterday was too wet to do anything. They're cracking-on with the other kerb right now."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity6 -
Afternoon all. Late start from me as other things all decided to happen first thing. Weather here is similar to YBE - grey, but warm enough (at around 13) and dry. The clouds are a little foreboding and the ap assures me we'll have some rain at about 9pm. Tomorrow is supposed to be a warm one but cooler again friday going into the weekend.
Things progressing well enough in the garden. I'm now waiting on my germinated beens to show themselves in their pots, a few more of the herbs I sowed from seed to be large enough to pot on, and to get a better idea of if the things I've planted like where they've been put...
In other news - kitten brought in her first slow worm of the season. Healthy looking adult that probably only recently woke up. Nice to see they've not been completely chased away by the building work and I returned it to the end of the garden where the logs are. Hoping there's plenty of food around there and it's a more difficult place for the kitten to find them.I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.5
