KMN re clematis could u put wires or trellis on the outhouse and train it sideways ?YBE you make me laugh, do you want to be my neighbour.
Just had a quick jaunt to Sainsbob and they have 2 peonies for £15 I sorely was tempted but could think where to put them, my niece succumbed and I’ll be reet jealous when they flower. I do have one I put in a year or so ago but not seen it flower yet .
love the animal pics. Those cute little yellow birds are new to me.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.6 -
P.s. Chilly cold outside sun keeps appearing but V says rain to come. Sat and Sunday are not showing rain yet, but what looks like North and NorthEasterly winds.
PP I’m like you don’t like confrontation, but it’s a shame if the bins put paid to your sitooterie.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.4 -
wort, the neighbours used to have their bins at the back of the garden, but they've put something else there now. Weather (and phone) permitting, I'll take a pic of my potential sitooterie in the next few days. I've also just remembered I've got a screenshot of someone else's wee sitooterie that gave me the idea for that space in the first place.
Love the ceramic markers, AR
Commiserations on the dental work, Pas, I don't blame you for steering clear of apples, although you could maybe stew them??...

greenbee said:Bury some leaky hose in the beds before you fill them up @ArbitraryRandom - I did this when I had deep raised beds and it saved a lot of effort in dry summers. I set up hose connectors on the giant water butts (200l x 2) nearby, but could also water with the hose. Obviously if there was a hosepipe ban I'd fill the waterbutts and then use those to water... It means a lot less water lost to evaporation too.Danger danger Will Robinson Arbs, many years back I did just this, and then stabbed the sunken leaky hose with my fork :'( , so it leaked far more than intended, and it never really worked in the first place, not sure why, another super idea that turned to ashesThere's something on YT with a chap laying plastic plumbing pipe with holes in, a bit of a bu66er drilling the holes though. Have I seen lay flat tubing with holes somewhere?Love the mystery labels, I'd use a pack in no timePP, now that's what I'd call a sitooterie. Wow, I don't think I'd bother going indoors if I had something like thatI've weeded & chicken poo pelleted the large pots ready for my climbing beans, all set for the weekend plant up, blizzards will arrive on Tuesday.Numerus non sum7

If it's in a raised bed, Farway, it's not so bad as you don't tend to do the same kind of digging once it's set up. At least, I don't
Just small holes with a trowel to swap stuff over and mulch with compost. Mind you, I'm embracing no-dig wholeheartedly right now! As my veg plot is on what was lawn, it seemed the sensible way to avoid wireworm and other fun pests. And digging. A lot of digging.
Two more bulk bags of compost have been delivered. Actually on the day they were scheduled for too, which is nothing short of miraculous!6 -
I love the little shelving units with lights around them - I've got some boxes that I could potentially use for that and some solar lights that have never been opened if I can find them. I'd be facing that fence, rather than sitting underneath it and I'd have plants in the space instead of stones. I've got a chiminea that could fit in there too. Ooh, I think I'm talking myself into doing it - just the pesky bins problem to solve
