Curious......because round here it's a small tree.
We have huge ornamental cherries around here. Those that have been there for decades. Real cheer when spring arrives.
No doubt there will be a photo when it happens. Couple of months yet unless we're lucky

Bluey, my kitchen is that colour. Need something bright and sunny in the morning.
Asked a friend how to improve the kitchen and she said 'get rid of the colour' only thing I chose!
Goodness knows what she says when she sees the yellow smiling starfish I hung.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Well, I did as threatened and, headed west in search of sunshine. I must confess we even strayed into that heathen kingdom where they put the jam on before the cream.
Alas, it was all to no avail; there was no sunshine to be had anywhere!
We walked for a few miles along an old canal footpath and beside two lakes. The best photo I took was this one......Soooo dull!.....(I may have added a duck or two five.)
I spotted some impressive catkins for Farway to munch, though. If only the wind hadn't blown quite so hard, they'd be less blurry.Never mind. 10000 steps, which has to mean a big curry's OK!"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity7 -
Noo 2p don't get rid of the colour! I really miss mine, but my kitchen now is white tiles up to the ceilings and I don't like it much. My bathroom's the same. I did my last bathroom a lovely pale sagey green sort of a colour and I loved that too. You need a new friend ha haa! Oh and congrats on making the front page - for a different thread mind, but still
Dusty even I could tell you'd ...improved... that picture, the ducks are all the sameAnd what's with that one near the top - must be a holy duck judging by his halo
I prefer your heron+egrets pic, I've not seen either of them for years. I've geese here, flying back and forth and honking away but I've no chance of getting a pic of them.
Fingers crossed you find something new and marvelous when you're out and about Less, report back with any finds won't you?
You've reminded me I got a pic of snowdrops last friday Farway, completely forgotten I'd taken it (stoopid brain). Are they good spreaders would you say? They're in front of mum+dad so they've only got a few feet to travel. I'll be cheeky and put my pic up first, before you show us how it's doneDid spade reveal itself?
I wasn't gonna come on here first thing cos the weather is rainy rain rain from 1030, they said. I planned to be up and out, food shop etc done, then on here for a bit, then cooking this aft. But it's been raining this last wee while. Grrr. It's like they don't care *sigh* Weatherman last night said we've "disruptive snow" coming Thursday+Friday, and just as I was thinking about rejigging stuff so I'm not out on friday Cissie rang - are ye watching the news are ye? Aye I am Cissie. Well you're not to be listening to that weatherman for you'll have no snow for there's none in my forecast. Oh ok thanks CissieHer weather usually comes straight across from her to me and she's more accurate than the lot of them. She likes me to send her a pic of the fresh flowers I take on a friday, that's what she was thinking of. So there yous go. No snow coming, be it from drunkards or sobers or proper Ventusky folks. Fact.
Mild out there this morning, 11' my phone says, and breezy with it still. Big cold front slipping down the country, they say, so I'm pleased I bought that coat cos it looks like I'll be needing it!I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6 -
Snowdrops. Hopefully they’ve got itchy feet….I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6

Dry out there this morning. About 11c still but last night was really cold from an east wind.
Seems a bit warmer now with a windy west.
Rain forecast late afternoon which is good because I moved plants.
Handy to have a forecasting friend Bluey.
Yes to the kitchen colour. Couldn't get the right colour for the bathroom. Much like the fittings, it's no longer in stock Friend has all dark grey, white and mustard. Neighbour navey and grey. Most of mine is whatever was in the shed during lockdows furniture ditto and it's turned into cottage with a modern twist. Aparantly that's a thing. Who knew.
I reckon those snowdrops are Tescos finest. They did boxes for £3 and I had some and they're out the front being bright and cheerful. Nice sturdy little doers.
Don't think there's any gardening today. I'm just admiring cut lawns and the garden looking like someone cares
That's before the next lot of dismal weather.
But looking good again in a couple of days and I'll start giving new shapes to flower beds.
Meanwhile I've got a couple of 'help me!' Threads to put up on here to deal with bugs.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

We've found bird hides are very similar, though this one was too public to come with free binoculars. There's always a book going back a few years, and entries in there that are beyond impossible. "Penguin" was one I remember from yesterday. "Pterodactyl" was listed in the previous one we visited.

Farway said:Nice snowdrop pics, I've not made it yet to spot any, maybe tomorrow if Yellow Snow doesn't arrive, actually I think that is much further north. I guess snowdrops spread, going by the drifts that are around. Unless that's Dusty cutting & pasting them.Peaceful dull pic Dusty, captures the day perfectly, however you left a bit too soon, when I walked by I spotted thisStory of my life!
Good idea though. That area could do with a new attraction. We fondly remember taking the kids to a fairly basic adventure park nearby and the fun they had. The toboggan run was particularly fast, and probably non-compliant too.
Sadly, it fell foul of the planners and closed nearly 20 years ago:
I didn't spot Bluey's lovely snowdrops earlier. I'm feeling guilty now. There was a whole bank of them where I had to stop yesterday to let the hunt go past. Sadly it was a long, drawn-out bunch of followers, a single track road, and I was late. By the time I got under way again, I was so late the flowers had been forgotten."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity4 -
Now if that bird hide had been on the Isle of Skye, Dusty, it would have been a Pterosaur...

A dismal and wasted weekend here - constant heavy rain and gusty winds. It's supposed to be dry, bright and breezy today, so why is it raining??
