I love the sunset pic Dusty, not had any since the back end of summer .
YBE. Apricity is a fabulous word and will try to fit in today somewhere, though a chance of sun is unlikely at the moment. Sounds pretty windy out there. 2 p I could fall down a rabbit hole of words myself but the chances of remembering them is slim.
Maybe I should look at the word of the day and try and use it . If I remember 😂😂

I wonder if my garden tendencies come from my love of seaweed on holidays, I used to play collect and play with it, my parents even let me bring some home in a bucket of water, which ended up stinking in the garden. No doubt my grandad used it as feed in the end.

I planted the aubretia seed and put in the conservatory. Didn’t have enough of the containers to do the other seeds yet.
Is it just me singing purple haze to the tune of purple rain?

  • Apricity is a fab word wort, and I'm with you on the rabbit hole thing that's very interesting for a few minutes but they never stick, sadly. I've kept 2p's link open in it's own tab cos I'm determined to use some of them, once a bit more winter gets here. And no I wasn't singing Purple Rain but I am now thank you very much! Mind the church bells will be starting soon so that'll clear it out again :)

Arb is it just hostas that the 1/3 pruning applies to? I've a something out there that may very well be a hosta (label gone) and it could do with a bit of reviving...

2021 loo roll Dusty?! Gawd! Either yous don't use much or you've a hooj barnfull ha haa!  Aye the french won't stick it will they, quite right too. Remember the carryon over the pensions as well. Good luck to them I say. I wish we were more like it here instead of rolling over like labradors. Anyway.

Good luck with all that gb, sounds very frustrating. Tell the builders they've got 7 days to collect their scaffolding or it's going on fleabay

Ooh a blackie in the blossom 2p  Is it your own or a new one? That was a good whack of work you got done, enjoy your day in bed ha haa!

Cloudy and grey and mild here. The drunkards reckon it'll rain and/or drizzle all day (doesn't smell like it to me) and the sobers say 35% chance of a bit of rain around lunchtime. Possibly. Windy this aft they all agree.

Oh and I finished PB last night. There's 36 hours of my life I'll never get back. Actually the first series was good, I just wish I'd stopped there (hint hint Farway).
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.

That was a joke, though we did buy in bulk when it was a lot cheaper, and the Ritz, or anything with fat/oil in it that will eventually go rancid, is worth watching for the best before date. About 6 months over's OK. ;)
The fence posts I bought have kept best of all. o:) Horrendous price increase there; though if I'd a time machine, I'd go back to the days when the preservatives used actually worked and buy them then. B) We have a still-solid fence down by the stream (Nelly Dean!) and it's been there since 1989. I have the original deed in which it's specified to be 2m high and deer proof Now, we have eco-friendly ones that last not 30 years, but about 10-12. By my reckoning, that's nearly 3 posts to one of the old type, so 3x the amount of trees needed to do the same job. Can't see how that's eco, bearing in mind transport too, but the 'experts' know best! Hmmmm. :|

Do your roofers own the scaffolding greenbee? Scaffolding companies are notorious for storing their stuff on people's houses, rather than in their own yard. :|

I've had a painter's ladder and toolbox for two years now (it was a young guy that did the work and was paid, but was going to come back to do some trim)... no idea how long I have to store them before I can get rid. No contact details really as it was a referral from my plumber.

You don't want to be relying on my theoretical knowledge for things like that! But in general it's the rule that's always recommended for foraging etc - if it's an established plant and you leave 2/3rds then it should recover, and if the reason you're taking a third is because it's overcrowded then I assume it will give it a bit of space at least for the season when you decided about splitting it etc.

I'm laughing at that till I weep and I don't know why. It makes no sense but sounds wicked. So clever.
Tommy cooper used to do that to me too.
We are very short of laughs these days with self obsessed comedians that just shout.
    Thanks for that  :)
I hesitate to recommend comedians, as it's a very subjective thing, but Simon Evans can reliably make me laugh.

Kevin Bridges and Ross Noble here. Both have made my stomach ache from laughing so much :D

It's been raining all day here and it's to get rainier, if that's even possible. Add in some gusty 40+ mph winds overnight and into the morning - just lovely...

Btw, I always wake up with a song in my head - this morning was Walk by Foo Fighters.
