Looks like we are in for a heavy storm tomorrow here down south. Apparently one of the worst for 20 years i've heard? Is that true?4

I'm keeping the hedge at the back, which is just as deep but twice as tall, so hopefully that'll keep the birds happyI'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.5

And that was in early summer!!!

We're on our second one of both, though to be fair to the battery trimmer, I ran over it with the car after 5 years reliable service
and the battery is still good for the new one! As we like it so much, here is a blatant plug:
As you can see, if you already have a charger and battery, it's a lot cheaper.I got my replacement via the Bay from someone who claimed they bought it in error, though how one does that.....? Imagine the scene....
"Hello dear, back already? Did you get those nice wellies from Mole Valley Farmers?""Um ...err....no my love, but I got a new hedge trimmer!""But we haven't got a hedge!"Doesn't compute."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity6 -
Agreed - the next few storms might be 'worse' not because of how big or powerful they are themselves, but because the grounds already saturated/things have been loosened from that last one. Would be worth checking fencing/garden furniture is appropriately secured and there's plenty of coco in the cupboard!I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.3

I'm just wondering whether I should go out in the dark and move a bit more of the garden furniture under cover...4

Well morning everyone, are you still all intact?
Been waiting for this wind and rain for 36hrs now but nothing yet.
It has rained a bit and a bit of rain but so far no storm. Just autumn weather.
Gone from 8-9c in an hour and rising.
No more predictions for wild gusts and despite the news and weather giving 'stay indoors' it's just mac and boots for the walk this morning with a group.
Lovely hoto Dustyvery Devon.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Here's been fine (and there's a LOT of loose debris in the garden if the winds had picked up) but I'm fairly north and I think the wind warnings were for the South/Mid?
Tusky suggests I have a rain cloud parked on top of me for the entirety of today, but most of the day looks more drizzle than deluge - not a nice day, but nothing compared to last month.I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.4 -
The weather's not great here currently, but the trains are still running. Looking at the river cameras, I can confidently predict they'll be out of their banks by midday, so DD might need rescuing from Exeter at some point. Our 4x4 is fixed and MoT'd, but still at the garage, unfortunately in an area that floods fairly often!I went out at first light and secured a big joist to the back of the chicken house, supplementing the two poles we already have there to stop winds from the south blowing it over. It was still not too blowy at that point, but I can hear it whistling up the side alley now. Everything's incredibly soggy out there, so take care walking with your group 2p!"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity5
