Sunny again, I think I will have to water the front pots soonBlue, made me laugh with the IrnBru "call" nothing dug up here, but I used to get pottery on my allotment, guessing it was town tip before, nothing fancy though, best I found was a glass bottle stopper, not really Antiques RS itemsSounds good landscaping Arbs, another one waiting on pics in due coursein_my_wellies said:
Great tip re leaf cuttings taff, I shall be trying that. I found two potted heuchera completely without roots yesterday, although they looked well they just lifted off the soil, no roots whatever. I'll be checking for WV and trying some leaf cuttingsWe have oaks popping up in the volunteer border thanks to squirrels, I suppose we should try & find homes for them but at the moment get the same yanking up treatment as any other tree seedlingsMore temptation, e-mail from Fothergills with bedding plants & P & P, OK for pansies, but primulas look tempting. Just checked, nah, £22 for 30, a bit too much for me to donate to the volunteer place or as VW fodder hereToday's planned photo has been amended, was going to be cosmos but seeing Dusty dahlia it has to be my "going to be pension pot" one that is nice but not outstandingThe rainbow is not clever Photoshop editing, I wish I could claim intentionally, but it's a lucky accident caused by shooting into the sun and the vintage USSR lens renown for giving "interesting" backgrounds in these days of pin sharp perfect digital photos

YoungBlueEyes said:A 4 man post rammer?! Bladdy hell. Just don't go looking them up cos you're sure to find that they're rarer than hen's teeth and worth a bomb. Sod's Law.They are, but maybe that's because they never existed! I had a ferret around and I can't see any at all.
Maybe it only had 2 handles....but the size of the thing! I couldn't even pick it up; I was dragging it.
I have a nice 'middleweight' one now, in a tasteful shade of maroon. Wish I'd bought it years ago.

Congratulations to centenarian. My grandma made it to 98 .Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.3

Gawd that's some picture Farway, deffo front page material. Can you not squiggle the flower round so it's facing the camera? I know it'd be 'fake news' but it'd be a good one to keep for yourself
Maybe your 4-man rammer was made by someone for themself Dusty. Gawd that makes it even rarer, forget I said thatI don't wanna shut up, I want a 7up and a 10p mix-up.3 -
Wow it's hard to keep up!
Who had lot's of cucumbers? Have you seen this?

I did so much gardening yesterday I was exhausted and it kicked the back, hip, pelvis whatever it is into overdrive so I've had a relaxing day out on the moors photographing the deer, ponies sunsets and chatting to other photographers.
Seriously strappy tee shirt and shorts weather. Lovng it!
But the washing doesn't dry? The grass doesn't dry? What's that about?I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-66994957Oh, there's always some bloke with a bigger one!I'd rather have my veg in small usable doses, but that's not what happened either with the cucumber. First, it sulked and almost died, and then it went mad.We only eat about 1.5 cucumbers a week, so without the chickens, those would be a terrible waste.
I think the grass doesn't dry because there's been a serious amount of dew in the morning and there's been no wind to speak of. It's been hard going, mowing it. I should have done as you did, and gone off into the wilds somewhere for a long walk, but Mrs Dusty wouldn't have approved. She says we have to knock the garden into shape first, as we don't know what opportunities, or lack of them, will be our lot later in the month.
I say “gather ye rosebuds while ye may” but thinking about the real meaning of that, it's probably a bit late anyway!7 -
Wow, so many posts on here, I can't keep up. I'm enjoying everyone's photos and have one of my own to contribute now. I spent this afternoon wandering around the Botanic Garden here enjoying the glorious weather and this dragonfly obligingly stayed still long enough for me to get a close up photo. I think it's this common darter.

Ooh I like your pic gf, such pretty autumnal colours
They're hard to photo cos they're so busy busy, I'm always impressed when someone manages it.
That sounds like a good day out 2p, did you get anything special in the photo dept? Forgive me asking a personal question, do they know what's up with your back/hip/pelvis? That combo reminds me of a woman I used to work with, Karen. She had the same complaint and she was ages getting it sorted. They kept telling her she had arthritis in her hip joint. It wasn't until a new doctor had a look and decided to start the investigations again that it got sorted. It turned out to be a fractured/broken (?) coccyx, and the site of the damage was affecting the nerves round the whole area. If that's any help? I am not a doctor, this is not medical advice etc
I booked tickets last night, I'm away hame for 10 days at the end of the month. I've told himself that it's for my lot to assess whether he's marriage material or not ha haa! So the thread will slow down without my nonsense, endless questions, gibbergabber, valuable contributions
Nobody gave rain but it's raining out there now and has been these last couple of hours. It reckons to be warm (tick) and breezy (well it's picking up) and low humidity all day (not yet it's not). It wants to sort itself out sharpish cos today is Domestic Nonsense day and I've washing to get on. Still nothing in the sunset/sunrise/moon dept eitherI don't wanna shut up, I want a 7up and a 10p mix-up.5 -
Very still here, and we're in a cloud, so a misty, moist start to what promises to be another sunny day, peaking at 21c.It'll be another day of Mrs Dusty making a mess and me clearing-up....But it's good to see her back in action again.....I think!6

Sunny start here, out to Post Office & spot of pansy hunting in Morries first offSuccess on Pansies & Clematis
, found & bought both so that's my gardening jobs some time over the next few days, may plant pansies on Saturday 'cos it's flu jab day and surgery is close by the Volunteer place where the pansies are going
Good dragon fly GF, and hopefully a nice day in the Botanic GardensSounds a nice day out 2P, hope some nice photos, or at least enjoyed the walk & chattingYBE, sounds like a nice change with the visit, hope the results are whatever you want them to be, and it'll make a change of scenery anywayDusty, good to see Mrs D back to work, even if it's more work for you, one of those things tidying up for winter, glad when it's done.I'm toying with the idea of having to get someone in to tidy mine up, the grass is just too long now & kindly neighbour seems to have other things to do this year [not asked & I wouldn't], but having seen the results of Arbs sort out it may be worthwhile, not that I want that depth of sort out, just grass cut, weeds from border & patio etcSomething for me to ponder now MOT is done, just boiler service to pass and Taxman to sort out, and then I'll be clear.Today's pic is white cosmos in the sun last weekend, at the volunteer spot. They are self seeders and seem to have their second breath now and positively bursting with flowersEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens7
