Not sure I need further enticing into the gardening world, I'm meant to getting myself enticed into the employment world ha haa!

Your roses look good Farway. I'm not sure whether to to do some of mine in just water, cover more bases.

I'm not liking this new format thing. I'm on my phone now and the text box doesn't have a smiley face in it at all, nor the bold/italics/strike out options. Grrr.

Anyway. The sun’s out, bit of strength to it too :) However something is eating the green off my sweet peas. Not the whole leaf, just the fleshy green bit. Never ends does it.

I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.

We seem to be back on the old text editor at present. Can't imagine why that is! :o
So, there was I, thistle hunting, when a man & woman approached across the field..... :o Although I've always wanted to do it, I'm glad I waited before shouting,”Oi! Gerroffof moi laand!”
It was a lady from a nearby cottage and her prospective buyer, wanting to know about its drainage, which mysteriously enters our property and then goes 'underground.' Apparently, the buyer's solicitor isn't very happy about that, and quite right too, as there's no legal agreement......
(Rest of post removed. Have sorted this one out. o:) Hooray, there are some reasonable people left on the planet!  :) )

Royal purple material not in yet. This is going to the wire.....chicken wire! :D
What with drainage negotiations and seeing SiL's car safely onto the tow truck, I've not done a lot of 'proper' work today. :( The wind's steadily increased and we've lost most of the sunshine now, so hoping for a quieter evening to pot things up and get those blooming garlic in.

Did SiL make it to Hamsterjam in good time?

Yey I'm back on the forums again..........
Going to be short though as busy days.
Here;s some pink daisies that I sucummed to
and here they are in place- yup, finally after about 12mts of too wet, too dry too wet etc the mini pond is in place and the frog no longer has to live in the drains. He's already moved in :)

I need to dig out some plants burried by the enormous sage so they will go around the front to deter herons.
Behind is my poor dead greengage.

And of course when business is over that's another trip round the far flung garden centres, coffee cake etc to find a very small fountain. I really must Not come back with more plants!

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

Ooh I really like your daisies 2p, they look well in your border. And hurray for happy frogs  Is greengage not rescueable...?

Death and destruction in my garden last night - there's white feathers everywhere. So prolly one or two less pigeons in the world  B) I suspect a fox cos there's not a scrap of innards or a drop of blood to be seen, but it coulda been The Holey Roamin' Terror I guess. I was potting on my toms yesterday and he came stalking out of the undergrowth to see if anything was edible and then snorted in disdain.

Bit of a breeze here this morning but not cold. The Oracle came round this morning to say she doesn't like the look of our weather so she's decamping to her caravan at Pateley Bridge.

    Storrmms a-coming.

Argyranthemums are always good value, 2p, especially in a location like yours. You might even get them through a winter OK.
Yes, this is a definite new neighbour, Blue Eyes, so it's important to get off on the right foot. Difficult, though, when they've called in 'experts' and I'm saying something different.....but I know every inch of this place now. ;)
Local elections today. Looking at the posters in windows situation, the local guy could be in for a shock. Not before time, though nothing will change until people work out who's really in charge, and I despair of that happening for a while yet. :|
I see we're still back on the old text editor, so no bang head against wall or facepalm smileys for the above!
On topic: it's blooming cold out there, but my courgettes under fleece are fine. Cat is still staring into the wood burner, hopefully! :D

People who are right v people who are experts - always fun

Local elections here too. Nearly all independents, there's so bladdy many of them! Labour are trying their damnedest to make inroads but I doubt they will. Time will tell.

Supposed to be sunny, but I have my doubts, it's 50/50 at the moment

YBE, yes do try some rose cuttings in water, I have never had any luck with rooting roses in water, but seems to work for some folks, I wonder if it depends on the variety?

Local elections here as well, just the three main parties on my ballot, with only two candidates who give their local address and have bothered to poke a leaflet in my door, as much as I may want to give a party a good kicking I'm unable to, so it's better the Devil I know for me

Spring is here for sure now, some of my Cape Primroses have buds forming, Charlotte & Texas Chilli are on the way :)

Ref new neighbours, I was out pottering yesterday & got chatting to my new neighbour, in the sunshine. She is youngish mum & 2 kids but seems keen to get the garden sorted, and supposedly her garden mad mum is very keen to get some veg in etc, so could be plant tips and chats over the wall

The Merton Thornless blackberry has a few flowers just opening, it won't be a picture show and flowering arch this year with last year's drought affecting the growth but looks like enough for me

Ooh everyone's getting new neighbours.... where can I get some??

I'm gonna pop some of the roses into water I think. I was wary of just doing it tho cos it'll wash off the rooting powder I dibbed them in. My fence is ... erm.... under a constant state of attack.... so if I beggar it up I can easily start again.

I do like primroses, they're so cheerful. Your blackberry may surprise you Farway :fingerscrossed:

They don't need rooting powder in water, says he, who can't root roses in water. Honestly, I've seen & heard of some who just plonk roses from a florist in water & bingo, they root. Mine rot

I love primroses as well, but never had any luck getting them going, despite planting them, another one I can't grow that others get growing like weeds

Forgot to mention, I think I may have a Norwegian Blue currant, looks very dead, but it may be having a long rest. My other currants have blossom & some berries on now. Shades of 2P greengage methinks
