Sun's just breaking out, supposed to be nice today with slight chance of a shower

Glad to hear you're sorted for plants 2P, and in a good cause.
When I first read it I thought you'd got a Romanian street dog :o , which would be a change from coming home with more plants
Goosegogs are so easy and rewarding, just picked my first sawfly the other day, early start for them, but at least easy to spot
Is the Marmalade tom actually Marmande? If so, it's one I've never managed to grow to look like the pictures, best of luck with them

I have another runner popped up, five now from zero last week, I can see me with too many now which I was trying to avoid this year
All my apple trees are in blossom now, and with a fine weekend, sort of, ahead those bees can get buzzing
Finally cleared out the last of the dead canes from my Merton Thornless blackberry, buds are forming but far fewer than last year, I suspect the drought has had an adverse impact on it, it just baked last year, and I was unable to water enough

Here's my old, unknown, mislabelled apple tree, now retrained as sort of espalier, so my old bones can reach the fruits.
Slow worm is at the base of the tree, slightly left of centre, in the brown tea leaf patch

Blue, it was a Rowan tree with golden berries.
I may find some berries late summer, just laying around  >:) and have a go at planting them. They're tough old trees.
Didn't answer about pruning fruit trees because I've made a right mess of mine. Listen to the others.....I did a thread on here about it. I'll try and dig it out tonight and link it.

No idea about marmalade tomatoes. It will be an adventure. She had the purpley striped ones too but I resisted. No idea where I'm going to put all this as it is.
Needless to say having got them this morning one of my little seeds has finally germinated!

Lucky you having a slow worm Farway. Useful in the garden.
I've some sparrows and dunocks moved in eating the tiny bugs off my plants so I can't go out morning or evening as they are doing my work for me. My crows seem to have moved on fingers crossed.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I've DuckDuck'd rowan tree golden berries, that is attractive

Love your apple tree Farway, I'd be that happy if mine one turned into that

Romanian street dogs are used to independence, so their owners need to be strong-willed. She across the road who set the Council on us has 3 of them. They're in control, not her. Fortunately, they're basically good-natured animals, but scary if one doesn't know them and they come charging across the field. One child was terrified and another fell off their bike. While not wishing to be vindictive, I wouldn't lose sleep if certain political campaign persons locally had a misadventure with them and sued! >:)
Lots of people call Marmande, 'Marmalade.' It's pretty easy-going, just like French people, unless their pensions are messed with, that is! The BBC didn't dare air most  footage of the protests. 30 cities and millions of people, I believe. And what did Macron say
? “Ach, let them eat tomatoes!” *

My big conflagration was a great success yesterday. 9 dumpy bags in under 2 hours. Enough CO2 to propel Bill Gates' private jet 4m.
    Here's my failing Viburnum tinus:
It's important to show we all have problems in the garden from time to time. I don't think it's fireblight now. Simply don't know what it is! :'( Any ideas?

    * I may have slightly misquoted, but the sentiment was correct.

No idea. I was saying about the dunocks on my box hedge. Looked this morning and its covered in something that looks like whitefly on the side they didn't tackle.
Could it be something like that?
    Is the wood still green?

Just been out looking and my huge clump of indestructible chives is now a tiny plant. They got devastated with blackfly last year.
Fortunately I split some and planted in the veg garden which they didn't touch.

I don't know what's up with your viburnum Dusty. Is there something directly underneath the parts that are brown? (Is it hateful neighbour poisoning it bit by bit?)

I was looking after handsome yesterday afternoon and the weather was alright (light cloud, bit of sun broke through) so I got the weeding done. You shoulda seen all the ants I turned up! I've different sorts now too - some black, some amber, and some tiny tiny red ones. Buy shares in ant powder now folks!

The Oracle has that virus. Tested positive but alright other than a cough and scratchy throat. She was very upset that it'll make her miss church for a wee while now. I'm more upset cos I was gonna unload half my forest on her for her to take to a Bring+Buy

Just read that thread 2p, some really good info on there. Makes me want to get mine sorted but I'm wary of doing anything too soon. I need to get something for it to espalier along....

The land under that viburnum hedge is well known and no different. It's the smaller, slower growing plants that are affected, and they started looking poorly last year, which points to something systemically wrong. The one in the picture is stone dead, while others are on their way, but not there yet. In other places I have V. tinus 8' high and showing no symptoms. It's certainly not the neighbour, who's more into passive-aggressive stuff.

Yes, people are still testing for that illness! We've been waiting to get it, while others in the family, fully protected, test when they feel poorly and have had it several times. Can you not take part of your forest to the church hall and just hand it over? God will provide and all that. From what I remember, when we did similarly, just after coming here, God was short of Go-Pak tables, until someone not in the plant organising crew came along. ;) Ecclesiastical politics can be tricky, but God works in mysterious ways. o:)

I might end up doing that Dusty, just distributing them to the various churches we have here - there's plenty of 'em!

I'm reading about tree pruning etc and I don't know what to do. With my apple/pear/appear trees, will I give them the run of themselves this first year while they're only young and start the espalier doings next year, or is it like dogs where you get them in hand from day one...?

Oh and just to make sure I really have bitten off more than I can chew I planted some seeds out of a lovely red pepper we ate yesterday, in yogurt pots like wot thingy did upthread
