To me the leaves don't look hairy.
They remind me of something but not sure what. I think wildflower (im being polite) like.

Decent dry and white cloud day. Had to spend the day in town central. Horrible.
So went to relax looking in Morrisons for small tree and came home with a huge pink daisy plant to 'cheer me up'...... any excuse  :D

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Not sure why your photos don't expand when I right-click and then left click. Poppy's do; they turn into pictures big enough to cover a bloomin' billboard! Those were lovely apple blossoms BTW o:) , and far ahead of most here.
I have absolutely no idea why my photos do that 😂

Bright and sunny again today, but with a nippy wind when in the shade. Rain forecast for tomorrow ☔️
It's to do with the true size of the photos set on your device. Errr...'technology' reduces them if necessary to fit on the page, but they can be viewed larger in a new window or full size by left clocking on that. I crop and resize quite a lot of my pictures with a photo program. For example, the bird shots are (rather obviously! :/ ) cut out of more long distance photos and then blown up a bit.
Rain here tomorrow too. I shall put on my forager's outfit and do some urban hunter-gathering. B)

Brilliant bird photos, Dusty. They didn’t show up on my phone when I posted my last message. Weird.

We saw fieldfare/s (not sure if it’s a sheep/sheeps situation there 😉) in the not yet flowering crab apple tree in December - they were eating whatever fruit was still left on it.

I'll go take some close photos in a min for further examination :)  I'm not sure why mine don't blow up. I take and post them from my phone, I've no idea how to get them to my lappy to post them from here.... It gives me 4 options of sizes before I post them - small, medium, large, actual, so I select small otherwise they'd fill a page ha haa!

They say it's 1' here, but it ain't. It's not warm like but it ain't that cold. White cloud all day, SE breezy and lashing down overnight is the forecast. I'm gonna put some stuff on my grass cos that's not very happy :(

I see those daisy bushes/trees and really want one, I do like daisies

We need a fig update... Farway, paging Farway, come in Farway

    Close ups, “actual size”.

So....hairy, and sort of prickly at the edges. Bit like me then! :D That rules out Evening Primrose....
How about this? Vipers bugloss Echium vulgare seedling with several true leaves Stock Photo - Alamy

Nope, to quote Poppy, yours is more 'jaggy' on the edges....
But we're on the right track....maybe!

Haven't removed copyright photo; just made it very small instead!  ;)

Not quite right for Perennial Cornflower (Centaurea) either...

    Doh! :#
Well, we know what it's not!

Edit: Dank and drear here, and set to get worse. :| Got blooming hosepipe ban letter this morning. Never had one of those before. Maybe if they used the postage money to mend some of the leaks? Anyway, we're exempt, apparently. Blue badge innit? And we're agricultural. So there! :p

Ah yes, ours have gone now, but they and the Redwings hung around till early March. No sign of the Swallow and House Martin influx, which is worrying. Just the odd one or two spotted.

Both your pics look kinda like it Dusty :) It's a good mystery innit! I'm leaving that patch to grow so I'll take more pics when they do something further.  Prolly won't be long like cos they're growing pretty fast.

I've just seen a tiny wee baby bluetit being fed. It's all fluffy and quivery and loud

Nice bird pics Dusty, not seen anything like that around here and TBH by the time I "clocked" it and found the camera it would be dead of old age

Those leaves remind me of something YBE, but just can't place it, I thought teasel but not quite spikey enough

Dull &, cold & grey again,
I was out for an eye test earlier and the wind was bitter. Hardly gardening weather. I can report a first for me, used the magic swipe card to pay for parking, the machines cash slots have healed over since Covid and while I lurked pondering how to proceed a lady offered a hand, not too proud to admit I needed one, too many instructions :( . Like most things, piece of cake once you've done it

Another success, partial anyway. 50% of my new sowing runners are up :) . The Firestorm are OK, but Moonlight are duff. Both same 2022 dates, but the Firestorm is in foil packet & Moonlight in paper packets.
Not sure if this is why, but us old 'uns can remember when foil packets first came in, big breakthrough at the time, along with new fangled peat based composts

After my Black Satin blackberry rose from its deathbed I got the blackberry bug, again, and sent off for another thorn less one, I chose "Helen" for no other reason than it was my Mum's name.
From E-bay and arrived this morning, not the healthiest of looking plants after being in the tender hands of Evri for over five days since posting. The final kick in its face was being left upside down on my doorstep. :s
I'll take a photo once I get the brown sticky tape off, looks like a rooted tip cutting but as it's only Spring plenty of time to get going this year
