Pics would be good eh 🤪I’ve also got some new wee birds. There’s only the 2 of them and they always come feed together, so I’m calling them love birds 😍I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4

Yikes YBE ! Rats are horrid, my cat caught a few babies and that’s a worry as you wonder where the rest are!I did an hour or so tidying the garden , just a bit of weeding ,I put in the Iris too.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0

Aye I know! Which is why I went looking for proper do-the-job-the-first-time poison. The 2 I saw the other day were big bu99ers 😳I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1

Nice pics everyone, I'd pinch the daffs & snowdrops idea as well except I've never succeeded growing snow drops although to be fair, never tried very hard eitherYBE, sad to say if you're feeding birds you are also feeding rats
, you don't get to choose what eats the dropped seed.
I found poison works, but it may take a few goes. My rat had moved indoors behind the kitchen cupboards, came out at night to nibble stuff, like bananas & the bread machine cableI did buy a break back rat rap because I was not sure the poison was working, but the rats vanished before I needed to use thatRain first thing this morning, but clearing to dull grey nowI did manage to pot on my Streptocarpus leaf cuttings, over forty of them once I started to split them up, and I've run out of mini pots now, so I need to buy some moreEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1 -
I've stopped feeding the birds and they're not very happy about it!
Also don't be telling me about rats in kitchen cupboards or I'll have to stop reading this thread!I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1 -
Over the last few weeks in February, the weather has been so much nicer its not even been too cold! The night are drawing out for a lot longer as well, lighter nights, I can't wait for it to be summer2

Well unless something drastic happens no gardening today!
Bitterly cold with nw wind. Been raining and grey.
So from the window I can see the buds on the raspberries doubling in size each day, crocus, dwarf iris and even big daffs looking more optimistic than me.
The year seems to be marching forward rapidly out there so hopefully they know it will be an early spring.
Someone just needs to tell the weatherI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

It's a no weather day here so far, not dull or sunny or cloudy or anything. But it's not raining so I shall go out later to do more tidying.
I love the photo at the base of the tree, wonderful
I found the blocks of rat poison more successful than grain. And long term I keep blocks in 'shelters' in various places as I keep hens. I check them every couple of weeks but they a rarely disturbed and no rats see on the wildlife cameras
I've been doing crazy mad sorting and tidying inside and out ready for this house to be valued. Today is the day! Not that it concerns me as now I'm just the house sitter. I owned it from the 80s to 00s and sold before a large extension and renovation so not able to compare.
I think I'll still grow the begonias and geraniums from plug plants even though I might not be here. I've planted them along the verge since 1982 and the new owner did too so it would look odd without them. And might inspire the new owner to continue the tradition. There, I've written it so I have a plan - job for tomorrow!Love living in a village in the country side2 -
Odd man out here with sunshineGardening already by ordering more small pots for my leaf cutting potting on. Arriving before 10PM so they sayOther gardening will consist of trundling the garden waste wheelie bin round to the front for collection tomorrowI also hope to get my tuberous begonia corms potted up, at least to get them growing before I plant them out to take their vine weevil chances later this yearEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Sunny here too but it’s starting to cloud over a bit now, with a nippy breeze.Wanting to get the rats eliminated asap I went out yesterday and bought a couple of old-fashioned rat traps. The thought of them appearing in my kitchen cupboards made me shudder. Woman in the shop said to bait them with bacon rind but I’ve none in so I’m trying ham on one and chocolate on the other. Everyone keep your fingers and toes crossed please!I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.2
