Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Dull start to the day after lovely sunrise, snap taken & below, nothing like that now, just gloom, good job I saw it or would take some convincing
Managed to get the last of my primulas planted out into a trough at the front, should look nice once they really get flowering
Shame missed the snowdrop sale 2P, I’ve always admired them but have grown them, I may take another photo trip to the churchyard where the snowdrops should be fully out by now
Must be spring, pair of pigeons canoodling in the tree outside my window, possibly followed by celebration poop on my window
Only gardening today is likely to be reading e copy of Amateur Gardening from local library

That is a beautiful photograph Farway. You must be very pleased. It's very cold, very windy and wet here so not even a thought of gardening today. Which considering I have large plants and a half taken up bit of garden looking scruffy shows how horrible it is.But yesterday surprisingly mild for the top of the moor and a deep valley, some sun and not a breath of wind.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Very dull, rain radar shows rain on the way and over Dorset right now, zero gardening today but just may split & pot on the Cape Primrose [streptocarcus] if bored time permitsLovely show of snowdrops 2P, must be great in real lifeEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Sun has returned after an extremely wet day yesterday, rain seemed to go on forever. However I did get round to sorting out my Cape primrose, [streptocarpus ], once I had it out of the basket found it was more root bound & crowded than I thought.
Split it up & repotted back in basket with fresh compost, I managed over a dozen new plants from that one, picture below, due to the rain I’ve left the watering in until today, once sun gets round I’ll do that and then let them get on with it, all have a bit of root so should take just fine
I had a look on You Tube before I started, just to see if there was another way or fresh technique of splitting, there wasn’t, but I did get hooked on other varieties of them and finished up buying four named varieties from Dibleys, had to buy one “Charlotte” because that is granddaughter’s name, and as she’s the one going to Sparsholt it had to be done, especially because she is plant mad right now a bit of encouragement always helps, getting that potting compost under her fingers nails and embedded for life is a good start
Delivery starting March can’t wait now.

No rain but very dull and cold in the Midlands today
Thank you for reminding me to pay attention to my streptocarpus Farway. Just an ordinary blue one which I have had for years but which last year caught mealybug as did everything else on my kitchen window sill. It's been under the carport all winter but is just surviving.
I know the culprit - an orchid which my son kindly brought back from Kew when he worked there. There orchid was soon disposed of but not before the damage was done. I should have cleared everything out but I'm too sentimental and just try to control it

And another dull & damp day starts with drizzle with real rain on the way laterIMW, my strepto is nothing special but it does did make a nice show, just a plain purple one but they are reliable & showy aren't they? The rain diluted & washed away the cat poo on my primulas, which made space for another creature to start digging in there, grrrrr,
.just can't win at times
Despite my saying no more beans for me I found a pack of Moonlight runners seed, bought last July before the plague of snails devoured everything. So it's Moonlight runners this year, if I get to eat any remains to be seen. Here's some of my Tete a Tete daffs just opening out the front, very value for money coming back every year. I normally give them a feed before of blood, fish & bone they die backEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4 -
Been absent for a while, working on our latest spot of DIY 🙄 but have enjoyed reading everyone's posts/looking at the pics 😁
Weather was dry here for ages, but like most places, it's now reverted to wet and windy. All I've managed to achieve outdoors is moving a few more bluebells from the rockery I began dismantling last autumn and potting up almost 200 daffs that we bought for the bargain price of £4 😉 Ultimately these will go into the *hot beds* but till I clear the brambles/PO's rubbish from that part of the garden, pots will have to do!
My big garden plans for 2022 (pond etc) are on hold as we've lots of DIY building work to get done, so instead I'll be concentrating on smaller, more manageable projects outside - such as creating a wildflower meadow roof 😁
Our snowdrops aren't quite as magnificent as those posted upthread by twopenny, but are bringing some much needed cheer to the garden nonetheless. Here's just some of them.....Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Very windy but surprisingly sunny and warm. Due to bucket down again lunchtime.
Speaking of buckets, I'm having to bail out a bucket under a drip from the gutter.
Now if it would drip over the hole that will be a pond it would be good but it's drilling a hole in the mortar of my newly laid path!
Bird table lashed to the fence and a step but my washing is drying a treat.
My kindle is playing up on this site so I'll get on the laptop tonightI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

The downpour predicted has moved slightly north. Great for us because it should mean we can do a couple of tasks in the apiary that we didn't get round to yesterday.
May not be so great if it means it all ends up in a catchment area to the north. That may translate into issues with surface or river flooding for a meeting later in the week.
We did manage to do a lot of cleaning though. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing2 -
No gardening today, waylaid with broken door lock & shopping, and now it looks like it's about to tip down, first of the two storms I expect
