No joy on the hedgehog hunt, but I took a snap from the other side of the trellis and it seems there are more white cup & saucer vine flowers over there.....and many seeds forming.5

Dull and a bit windy outside, another day like 2p's, just looking and thinking about it, but I may have a rummage for some small pots to pot on my Shasta daisies before too longYou can stop posting cup & saucer pics now, I'm green enough already
. Does your one carry on as a perennial Dave being in a milder part of UK?
Possibly need to water today but hoping there will be some this evening, looking at weather radar Dave & the Isle of Wight have my share right now, just as well your mowing was completedEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens3 -

Maybe tonight? No idea about the vines, but it looks like plenty seed will be available, so others can have a go too.2p is more likely to see tender stuff carrying over than we are. Our cannas survive OK though.

And the rain has arrived at last, steadily pouring down right now, which is the day my grocery delivery arrives and I've also arranged to go visiting, sod's law of courseEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens3

Rain here too Farway, so the water butts are filling up. I'm watching a sparrow on my beans, hopefully eating the blackfly.3

Yes, we had some overnight, but it's an improving picture and some good stuff will soon be heading your way. Remember the old adage "Rain by 7, clear by 11"I'm dancing tonight as part of 4 days of wedding celebrations, which is interesting, because after the exertions of the past few days and walking into a knee level obstruction in the dark, I think my undercarriage is about to collapse. Today, 8 hours of gentle weeding would look more attractive, but needs must.....3

Heavy rain here overnight, but woke up to a super sunny day 😃
The rockery now looks a shadow of its former self with virtually all the remaining plants removed over the weekend, as well as quite a lot of the soil at the lowest level. Still more than 30 actual rocks to move though and, unlike those in the pics below, these are too bulky/heavy for me to lift.....
We've accumulated quite a *pile* of these already from the dismantled part - although it's small fry compared to when we took down a crumbling stone outbuilding in order to build the kitchen extension at our Wilts house. They took up virtually the whole large terrace! - and they will be put to good use as the retaining wall we'll be building as part of our latest project 😉

Back to sunshine. That looks hard work PB1989, worn out just looking a them.Davesnave said:Yes, we had some overnight, but it's an improving picture and some good stuff will soon be heading your way. Remember the old adage "Rain by 7, clear by 11"Not huge borders like Wisley etc, but colourful and full of insects / beesSome of the plants were just going over, like Canna but enough to see what it had beenHere's some pics, the rudbeckia [sp?] were a huge patch, and the cone flowers I liked as well.Followed by scone & coffee in the cafe and some posh local meat from the farm ShopEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5

Beautiful border pics, Farway 😄 We've still not found time to visit anywhere locally since before the pandemic and have a feeling we're not going to this year now...and I was wanting some inspiration for late colour in our rather *green* borders here -
Hope Dave is coping with all the dancing and associated festivities of the wedding celebrations 😉
Sunny here again, so I've made the effort to shift a few of the more manageable rocks as well as some of the rubble (this includes fairly large chunks of concrete paving found beneath some 'lawn' we dug out) found everywhere in the garden. For now - as we were let down (again!) by the skip company - I've merely moved it to an area we won't be tackling for a while.
I'm also trying to sort it into piles of reusable building stone, bricks, flat pieces of stone to surround the pond, larger 'pebbles' etc 😎
The more ground we reclaim into actual landscaped garden, the more I appreciate why the two sets of previous owners left it to run wild! Doesn't stop me cursing them for allowing the blooming ground elder to take hold though 🙄
And finally, something pure white (Japanese Anemone Honorine Jobert) in the white bed, lol!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Nice white flowers at last Pb1989, I like Japanese Anemones but am put off by the spreading nature of them, and the only ones I've seen are the the muddy pink ones. Maybe on day I'll plant some in the volunteer border, but white onesOnly gardening today could be pot up the coleus that have now really rooted in the water, I know it was supposed to be quick & easy but surprisingly it really is.I may have another blackberrry picking spell but with the recent rain I suspect mould will have set inEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens3
