Dusty, re speed awareness courses, you can do them online, and worth shopping around as different providers charge different prices, interesting experience. Our insurance shot up this year as OH had accident where other driver kept going so they decided it was his fault. When I came to renew, I didn't know he'd claimed so didn't declare it, then had to pay an extra £129, which still worked out cheaper than going with a different company and declaring it.....

Thanks for the info, middlewife. 😊 We'll see what transpires when she responds, saying who was driving. If she was in a different county, or going 1 or 2mph slower, things would be different. However, from various on-line posts, it seems this camera is a really good earner, being one of the new AI ones that look like a lamp post, sitting neatly behind a large road sign. 😡

So not even a mist of water drops and started cloudy which meant sleep!
I've just accidently deleted all my recent photos off the sd card. I was taking a short cut and it's my own fault. Should have downloaded before selection and instead of deleting the 3 photos selected it was the whole lot so off to the camera shop tomorrow.
And I've got a contact lens stuck in my eye so that's a hospital visit though they couldn't get it out last time.
So gardening off the agenda for today and the next day while I sort the mess out.
Sun has come out now and again hot.
One thing I did save was the interloper nicking my raspberries. No shame!

Back to sun, heard on t'wireless this morning it's nigh on forty days without rain down here, That is a statistic I can believe just looking of the window at a brown world.
My, you are going through "interesting times" 2P. Not being virtuous but with me & technology I copy pics off camera before doing anything else to them. In fact if I use mobile it dumps them into Google pics without any intervention by me, no doubt to be stolen and appear on AI generated somewhere in the future. But it's handy and at my age I don't care or over worry about future, maybe, events.
Hopefully the pics can be recovered, I think it's Formatting that deletes forever, but no I'm expert. Have you tried asking AI for an easy walk through on DIY before you go to shop? Of course much easier letting shop do it if they can
Hope you contact lens gets sorted, braver than me, I could never willingly poke things in my eye, not even proverbial burnt stick, but a lot of things are better than that of course 😁
OT, Sad news from Newquay. DS & family are hol there and saw it all unfolding.
That's a good thief pic 2P, front page stuff IMO. That's the trouble with wildlife, you don't get to pick & choose what turns up.
Only gardening will be watering. I'm getting concerned over my tomatoes, no signs of ripening and time is rushing by
Here's new crop of figs, never going to ripen and I think I'll remove them soon, unless a handy squirrel is passing by

I hope you managed to get the contact lens out 2p. 🤐
You could try a free program called Recuva for the photo deletion. It once worked for me on a hard drive. Your photos aren't yet gone, they've just had their space marked as free space to be used. Maybe you know that. 😉
I missed Farway's Hibiscus, which made me wonder if I'm missing ours here. Must have a look….it's in the Garden of Neglect, over by the septic tanks. 😵
No news here. GC 4 successfully named and friends caught up with. We're tired and wanting some P&Q now. As it's cloudy and relatively cool, I may return to digging. Not much fun, but the next few days look scorchio again and it needs to be done.
We are seeing baby hedgehogs again on the Hog-cam, so some successful breeding has gone on during the sultry nights. 😇The cat doesn't look too impressed, though! 😂
Just refreshed. For once, it seems, I'm ahead of Farway on the figs. Score so far: Me 2 Blackbirds 1

Eek to contact lens, from confirmed specs wearer, too cack-handed to fiddle with tiny lenses...
No hedgehogs here sadly, but we did have (a little) rain over Sat-Sun night and possibly a tiny bit more last night. Water butts have a little water in them again… Dull today, with v slight misting of damp in air at times, 70% chance of rain at some time tonight, apparently....
We were away for 3 days when the rain happened, returned to find these (though there were hints when we left)

Thanks Farway, that's another solution I will keep in mind. Having an old laptop, almost full with photos, and old camera I've taken to putting the card into a thingy and downloading on a memory stick. This time I got over confident and while 3 photos were originally selected it deleted the whole folder somehow. 🙄
I count that as garden related as it had photos of plants in parks 😉 but nothing special. The only one was the Little Owl I've waited so long for so not worth the hassle.
The squirrel was so skinny when it first came and really raggedy so I forgave it a few raspberries and bird seed.
I've been photographing more for parks today, probably better. And went to the Little Owls haunt this evening and saw the baby waiting for mum. So will post later. Going out tomorrow morning to see if I can get mum again. Then a late stint this week to see if I can get them together.
Went for a swim without goggles. May have dislodged contact lens. I don't recommend this as a solution 😲 but I'm old school 😉
Managed to get some more of annoying neighbours ivy off my fence and start to prune the £3 Ceonathus which has been looking awful for some time. It may put on better growth next year. If not it will be pruned to the ground! Then I can get to the rest of the ivy before it does any damage.
Looked for some kale seeds to try and replace my duds but none on the cheap stands. Annoying because too late they will be in a discount basket so they do have them 😬
Lots of cloud, felt muggy like a storm but came out fine again….... Who said that?
Awww cute baby hedgehogs 😃♥️ you must be so proud.
Maybe an early start tomorrow, visitor and dog coming too

Out early on non garden stuff, prescription collection. On to Morries but nothing garden related to tempt, lots of dahlias in pots but I've no space. I was looking for some small bedding plants just to fill a couple of bare gaps. Do without
2P, pruning Ceonathus to the ground kills it, ask me how I know 😩Like lavender, doesn't grow from old wood. From my deadly experience of them they do not make old bones, short-lived and longing for the fiords
Kale seeds, DT Brown has some for a quid, if you can find a free P & P code could be worthwhile. There's free for first order but maybe you are not new, or wanting to be on a mailing list?
The contact lens fix sounds as bad as the problem to me. Anyway, at least you now have working eyes
Wishing you good Owl hunting, and pic recovery. I've not used but Google has "free" unlimited storage but I'm wary, if like Free Hotmail, until it wasn't !
Less, hrmmph, my Sungold & Bloody Butcher are green marbles, as are all the other varieties. Just slow I guess, can't be lack of warmth or sun this year. No doubt a glut for me later.
No gardening, not much needs doing except glare at the Lezzbeans. I'm trying to get some pics using older lens & manual focus, just to try something different for a change

2p: Lots of cloud, felt muggy like a storm but came out fine again….... Who said that?
One of George Formby's catchphrases was, "Turned out fine again!" 😊
Hope you get your owl pics and your extra lens out. No owl resident around here. Our grass is too short now it's been baled.
Congrats on the toms, Less. 😎 I shouldn't complain, having had a few since June and many more since early July, but like everyone, we've not had impressive growth. Got that first ripe one on May 31st, but it was an outlier.
Like Farway, I've had a busy day, so late to the party today. Had lots of watering first thing, followed by a trip along country lanes to a rendezvous on a chicken farm to collect paperwork. Then it was on to the builders' merchant in the middle of nowhere for two bags of pipe laying gravel, 50 pozi panhead screws and a pack of cable ties. This was to make the excursion seem more efficient, 'cos I forgot to pick up the paperwork while passing last week. 😟
After lunch, next stop was the dentist for the fallen-out filling to be replaced, which it was, all for £27 (NHS price 😁) Considering I only reported its loss yesterday, that was wonderful, old-fashioned service! 😇
Now, after a short doze, I see the sun has finally broken-through here, and we have blue sky scorchio again. 😐️It was very muggy and threatening this morning, when I spotted seagulls and thought maybe a storm was coming, but there's no chance of that now.
It's the Olde Fayre tomorrow, so I may get some good snaps then. Meanwhile, here is a Tortoiseshell butterfly appreciating a small allium I'm bulking-up for border edging.

Congratulations on getting away with just a replaced filling Dusty 😃 bonus! And a fare to follow. Even better.
Farway if it dies it's no great loss. It's beauty is long past but good while it lasted. I don't have the energy to fight a web site for seeds and bombarded by emails right now. Not even any to be found on the expensive garden centre. May try the old seed I have left and it is old !! Haven't had time to look in Lidl yet. Now they've all got firms running the carparks you can't just walk across to the next supermarket for fear of being fined.
Not an early enough start to catch an owl. Early enough to make me more tired and then friend coming. What is it with friends and family that give a time then go about other business leaving you hanging around.
So a wasted day though it was nice to see her nothing got done 😬
Ah well. Tomorrow electrician coming. 🤞 he can do the jobs without breaking the bank.
For now I'm shattered so an early night, another early start and see what weather we have tomorrow re gardening.
Today cloudy with sunny spells, muggy and hot. Some flying ants around. The light reflecting on the wings of the one on my car looked like rainbows. Didn't have my camera with me 🙄
