girlthey person who goes by the name of Jay. They is from Deb'n and calls everyone “moy lurvve”. Everyone's taken to her and I hope she lasts. It's one of several variations. I had “Moy luvver” at the petrol station last week, which was quite flattering, considering the age gap! 😂 And there's “Moy dear,” usually shortened to “M'dear”, but that's considered old-fashioned now.
I love a good Yorkshire or Lancashire accent on a young lady. 😉 I once had a Geordie girlfriend too, but she'd gone to a posh-speak school. She'd only turn it on for fun after a few drinks. That's one I can't do even a bad imitation of. 😕
Loved the estate agent photos. I've seen something similar, but those were all new to me. There was the semi-famous 'honest' and naughty EA of Glastonbury, Julian Bending, who seems to be scarcely in business now. A few quotes from his past particulars:
"Lease available for what can only be described as a prime piece of retail crumpet."
* "If this house were a person she'd be dressed in Chanel and not wearing knickers."
* "Where Guinevere lost her cherry and Arthur found it. Don't think I've ever been in a house that reeks of character quite so much."

I think I posted the wrong photo. 🤔There were four. One came out more gaudy than the one posted, one was blurred, and there was this one. I think it's closer to 'real.' Fiddling with settings and editing can alter pictures a lot!
Your dreamy Exmoor landscape was just right for yesterday.😇 My walking fiend wanted to be up there too, or on the coast, but my legs aren't up to walking miles yet.😒 Instead, we built a timber-edged flower bed for her front garden, ready for some new shrubs. I predict visits to GCs in the next few weeks.😉
Another sunshiny day forecast, with a high of 15c. I hope to get the rest of my hornbeam hedge in, but hedgehogs may take priority! I've not retrieved the camera card yet……😄

Morning all, on the International Day of Forests 😑 How's ya toms looking Farway? 😄
Ta very much for the gorse pic 2p 😍 Jeez I do love it, I can smell it already. Means ours won't be too long 'til it's out 👏 Do people still pick the flowers and put them in the water when they're boiling eggs?
I only got one pic yesterday but I'll abso-deffo-lutely take some today. I've a big bumble bee lumbering about the place but s/he has never landed, then yesterday it did. V quick point+shoot -
The dawn chorus has been building and building here, it'll not be long to International Dawn Chorus Day at the end of the month. I think I'm doing alright for wee birds, and I've more blackies than I did have. I had a blackie-a-trois this time last year, and then a couple of pairs through the year. Now I've got a blackie-a-sept and they do nothing but fight and scream and batter each other with their wings. I'm not lovin' it. If they spent as much time feeding and sorting themselves out as they do fighting and carrying on we'd be knee deep in babies but they don't. Oh and I saw a starling last week, bluddy things, and now they've found my garden. I know people go all gooey over them but I'll bet they've never had a flock of them strip the place bare. Shipbags. I had them in my last garden and they cost me nearly all my other birds, they could (and did) empty a birdfeeder in 15 mins 😣
OT another lovely Autumnal morning out there, 3' and misty. The sky is a pretty baby blue with lots of contrails in it 😊

I forgot to refresh before I posted - how's the hedgehogs doing Dusty? Are they the ones you over-wintered?

YBE thank you so much for the estate agent link, I’ve just spent a couple of hours, laughing like I’ve not done in ages.

also great bee photo , I had loads on the blossom the other day, and the ladybirds are still out in force.

Nice baby blue sky and sunshine, set to be a pleasant day
Had a smile at your new starters YBE, the one from sunny climes, not a failed NHS Dietician looking for a career change, by any chance?
The EA pics, I suppose it shows there's a market for everything
Gorse out, it's all long the motorway here, I've never heard of bunging it in boiled eggs? Does it colour the shells or impart some fancy taste?
I think I have minor lurgy, sneezing away last night, and feeling shivery. This morning I'm distinctly lacking "ooomph" and a bit achey. DS family recently had lurgy, maybe it travels? But I've nothing planned or urgent, so it will be mainly You Tube gardening today, fresh episode of GW as well
I may just prune a forsythia, grown from a cutting last year, not flowering this year but get it bushy for 2027
And try for a bumble bee pic, I spotted one yesterday, but no camera to hand
Lily beetle Death Squad patrols will continue
YBE, Morning all, on the International Day of Forests 😑 How's ya toms looking Farway? We have lift off😀, one sprouting this morning so rest not far behind.
And a courgette is up as well, two sown so again I'm hoping the other not far behind
Two seeds offers this weekend, very similar, I think same boss company, Some seeds at 69P and others reduced, DT Browns & Mr Fothergill. Still P & P to pay but maybe spot one you just love there?

Aye it’s a fab website wort 😆 They used to do updates a couple of times a week but you’re lucky now to get one a month. The one I always remember is the house that’s on fire - the caption is something like “open to fast offers, hopefully before the whole thing burns to the ground” You’d be ages doing it but it’d be worth just scrolling and scrolling ‘til you get to the older stuff.
Farway (or anyone) if you’ve any gorse near you, pick a handful of flowers and sling them in next time you’re boiling eggs. I’ll not ruin the surprise, but it’s a visual thing not a taste thing 😊
Right, pics. Primroses -
Yous’ll have to tell me what they come out like, for I’m on my phone and have selected “inline” for a change.
A “small” multiheaded daff 😍
That’s the thing that was mentioned earlier that I’ve forgotten the name of, naturally 🙄
Also - snigger at Farway’s NHS comment 😶Honesty is the best poverty.4 -
Well I've just cheated 😄 obliged to go into town on a busy Saturday so ambled back past the DIY shop and these just begged me to take them home.
I do buy a couple at the start because with no greenhouse I'd wait till late summer for seed ones to get there so for less than a punnet of water grown supermarket ones I'm hoping for an earlier crop. Still mse I'm thinking but it's the flavour.
Bucking them up on the windowsill for a day then in the soil.
Dusty,re carp compost. It's only slightly less carp than the last two I bought 😬 my thought is to mix with soil and any garden compost. Goodness knows when I can get around to that.
I'm hanging around here waiting for the blackbird that's been singing from my tree and the robin to finish feeding as I've been sanding weeding pruning yanking out the dead bargain apple tree cleaning the pond and generally kept going. Oh I hurt in all sorts of places but the birds are happy and the garden looks good even if I don't 😲 just got to clean the bird bath!
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

YBE - the inline pics appear as 3 tiny rectangles side by side viewed on laptop screen - they open in a new tab each when clicked on, otherwise picture is microscopic! Maybe that's what "inline" is supposed to do?
Not sure whether those primroses are to my taste, but better than ones with flowers pecked off by spuggies 😁; quite like the daff though; think the thing you've forgotten name of is Forsythia…
Since I took this the other day following news items on pink and double white daffs. here's one of the latter…

I lost hours scrolling tbh.. worth it for the laughs. After which I went to deal with the front garden tidy up.Lawn edged, weeded and shrubs cut back, like 2p I ached and struggled to walk in for lunch. After that I enjoyed a book and the sunshine. I was going to dig up a few scillia bulbs but the smell of dog wee was too pungent.
2p hope you are recovered today and get the toms planted up. Farway I hope your lurgy isn’t sticking around .
