Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Gawd Dusty, that’s a tale of woe. Imagine where’d you be if that’d worked out 🥳🥂
Only quickly popping on to show yous this. Himself has been helping with garden stuff today - I gave him one job, clean the patio. So he was ages sloshing water about the place and near wore out me good brush -
…so I said just nip to the little man at the hardware shop and get another head. Simple eh? He came back with this -
I gently said ‘ummm I think it’s a bit big really dear’.. and he couldn’t see the issue 😵💫 Means I’ll never have to sweep up again mind cos it’s so unwieldy. Other than airport people sweeping snow off a runway, who’s buying these things?!

Men, obviously YBE 🙄 Surely you know that bigger is always better?

The sun shone, morning visitor, garden all afternoon. 14c - 16c 😲
Planted onions, moved shrubs, pruned and weeded. Dug out turf, moved steps etc.
Too exhausted to post much but I have a garden that looks like a garden 😉
Plum blooming again, buds on apricot. Tulips coming. The seeded LITM clumps I've been protecting seems to be a weed ☹️
Bluey the bulbs just suffered from drought and took much rain. They need to go in the ground next year and get some vigor.
See you tomorrow 🥱

We might have been better-off for a few years, but then it would have been embarrassing when the plant did what its genes dictated. Like Dolly the Sheep, who aged fast, it had a built-in imperfection. Maybe if the original ones had been cloned…..but we'll never know. It seems some things aren't meant to be. 🙃
I must say I admire that broom, complete with its stabilising outriggers. Good if you've a big barn to sweep-out! 😅 Actually, I'd covet a rake like that. 😏 Brooms, not so much!
I felt a little better today. Perhaps it was the sunshine.🤩 My leg is still red, swollen, and far too disgusting to picture here, but it's not very sore compared with the joint pains. I wasn't the only one enjoying the better weather. These ladies had full tummies, and decided they'd just like to bask for an hour or two….🐏
The superior ones even found a way to upstage those above:
Spot the woodchip, rotting down nicely! (and a dead telegraph pole. 😉)
EDIT: Plums in February 2p? Whatever next? Who needs Tenerife when the tropical Somerset Riviera's on the doorstep? 😄

yes Dusty correctly Identified nepeta, the perennials were £2 each.Such a shame the plant didn’t work out, at least the big firm didn’t make rafts and stiff you. The sheep look content and free lawn mowing 👏🏻
2p you had a busy day and well done getting plums in Feb. The lawn isn’t great, not been touched since October? Full of moss and rather squelchy. I repotted my tulip bulbs last year as they had become less than good, they had been in for years in a pot without much care. They filled 3 new pots and all are showing signs of life, so you may be surprised if you do the same .
YBE that brush 😂
I got the plants in such a good day for it. I used up the compost emptying pots and sorting them out. I had a few where I keep shoving cuttings and odd bits in then I can’t work out what’s what. I progressed to the front garden and found the tiny alliums were all back 🫣 I can’t tell you how many times I have dug them out. I’ve a massive hebe appeared from the bottom of my pieris ! The McDaniel phlox had gotten messy so that’s been tamed.
All in I was out for 6 hours! With a 20 min break for soup and a 10 min tea break. It was lovely to spend the time out there.

Morning all, on Pinocchio Day 🤔 Pinocchio day, he wasn't even a real boy! At least Dolly the sheep was an actual real one.
Gb himself said something similar - if you're gonna have one you might as well have a big one. He said he didn't know where he was gonna store it, I said I can suggest somewhere… he didn't laugh 😆
Gawd look at your pic 2p, it's like Spring is here ☺️ Did you get any sense out of the docs re that letter?
Booo to your leg not getting with the program Dusty, what dya think it is? Were you licked by one of them sheeps…? No, rash cam before they did iirr. I like your Basking Sheep, that's March in our calendar I'd say. Homepage material too 😎
It was a good day to have a good day eh wort 😀 If you're sick of them alliums (allia..?) sling em across here to me. I can't keep my ones alive for some reason 🤔
I was thinking of you last night Farway. In the face of bladdy nothing to watch on telly we're going back to the start on Gogglebox. Noel Supervet Person was on, fusing a tiny wee Yorkie terrier's spine back together, and he used bone cement. So it turns out I had heard about it, but forgotten it too ha haa! How did lunch go? Are you still there having a lock-in? 😄
OT another lovely day in store. 9'c out there now with a high of 12' to come, possibly. Bit of a breeze to get up later, they say, but that'll help dry the place out.

Tiny alliums! Gosh, that took me back! I'd forgotten, our old garden had those when we inherited it in1987. We spent years getting rid of them. Not sure if we completely succeeded, either. 🙄 I'd never heard of your phlox, but found it. They are good in rock gardens, or draped over walls etc. We ought to have some.
If those perennials were £2 each, I want to buy mine where you go! 🙂The local GC has 9cm pots at £2.50 and that's the best around here.
I found a rather bad picture of Pandora, so here it is. Typically, I've literally thousands of plant photos, many 'extinct,' but virtually nothing of her. It was pre-digital days. 😐️
Thinking back to Bluey's daffodil photo, we're still looking out for the first bee here. I bet it'll be a bumble. Think I heard one yesterday, but that doesn't count. 😒
Edit: Weather appears very mild this morning, but dull. Light rain for us soon, and a max of 12c. Better tomorrow. More basking, if the drunks are to be believed. 😏

Morning, just a quickie, I'm on taxi duty for friend whose licence expired & insurance is duff 😕
First stop is Post office, renew licence, maybe, hope it doesn't finish in an argument & "Computer Says"
Sheep, plums and Norwegian Pandora. Nice pics, the forecast is Spring Day booked for Wednesday PM, damp, mild until then
I managed to get the fern cut back, and the garden wheelie bin is ready for tomorrow's collection
My hard red pear has blossom about to pop, I can see white bits showing in the buds, plum remains dead as a duck. Nothing else is showing spring signs
Catch up more once runaround is completed

Ouch! That's something us more 'mature' people need to guard against. Any excuse and the system will try to dissuade us from getting behind the wheel again. 🙁
Just like any age group, people of 70+ are very different in outlook and mental capability. When I'm compiling the quiz, I often think, “This one will beat them!” only to find that several teams of oldsters work it out inside a minute! 😕 For example (I don't think I've used this already🤥)

Hooray for pear blossom Farway. Now you know how to deal with them that's a bonus. Not many insects around, will you polinate with a brush?
Dusty that flower is beautiful 😍 id buy them if I saw them. And I'm too tired to do your puzzle sorry. Tried but I'm 3 letters short.
Bluey could you donate the brush to a raffle? Do you have the receipt? Could you make a garden feature of it?
Wort are you gardening today as well or was once enough 😉
No rain, no wind, about 12c and grey. But that will do nicely. Oh and no gardening. The usual admin of daily life today
