Hard overnight frost, with lovely sunshine & blue sky nowI was up in time but forgot to check on the sunrise

It's red, was supposed to be white with red stripes, another wrong label, for which I got a full refund from T & M.wort said:Farway fingers crossed for the bulbs. Is the amaryllis a red or a pink stripy one? I’ve toyed with the idea of one but I’ve that many orchids at the moment I don’t know where to put it.Now I have a bonus, there is another shoot coming up beside the bulb, will it be a double header this year?-taff said:Frway I have some bulbs which have never flowered so I've brought them in the see what they are being as they seem to be growing again...I have no idea what they are though, hoping it's something I like otherwise off to the deepest darkest part of the garden they go...How's your boiler? Is it good? It better had be in this weather...Very intriguing with the bulbs, I suppose you having them must mean at some time you fancied them? Or were they a Gift?Boiler, 10/10, he also topped up with fresh anti gunge and now I'm all set, especially now Our Rachel has given me £300 to splash on gas, but I expect she'll grab that back this afternoon
The shoes look comfy Bluey, and the socks warm. You could've followed the Australian lady MP who turned up in full Burka after the parliament refused to ban them. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz94pdkzqvwoMaybe save that for your leaving "do"?
No gardening, just sunset watching maybe, and shouting at TV later.Numerus non sum6 -
Wow! It's 10c here or near enough 😆
And bright.
Hope the rest of you have the same.
Overslept getting back to sleep after my 4.50 wake up so running all behind but it's domestic stuff and phone stuff again today. Not a bad idea because it's been raining and blowing.
Little birds out on the feeder only one or two but good to see.
Tomatoes still ripening hanging onto dead plants or in a pot on the window sill. Some have fallen onto the ground so bought them in.
Taste better than bought ones and don't cost £3 a pack 😲
Little heart dish from Morrisons 75p.reduced. bought another white one too because a pot fell and chipped my other one.
No outdoor plants at Morrie's or Tesco's apart from Christmas trees. A lot of dead ones still with a price.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

No brightness here, dull, damp & grey, temp 13C which it says is same as the record for this day, which is also Bruce Lee's birthdaytwopenny said:Wow! It's 10c here or near enough 😆

I've been on t'phone already with domestic financial insurance nonsense, premium doubled since last year,
phone call to mumbling operative I could barely understand managed to get it halved back down to similar comparison quotesAn annual chore of modern life.Your Morries sounds the same as mine, I expect plant neglect is in the staff handbook along with the Equality & slavery stuff, possibly even comes up at the Performance review, how many plants have you killed this year and how can you improve on this?My solitary pepper, I picked it yesterday, I've tasted better, but it was mine so all is forgiven. Surprisingly there were seeds inside, only six or so. I have saved them but not sure if they will be viable because it was the only pepper for miles, I'll give them a go though.Numerus non sum4 -

You've beaten me with the fresh toms.
Mine finished 2 days ago, but self-sufficient from July to November isn't too shabby, and we've loads of passata in the freezer. Aren't all Tesco's trees "Evergreen Trees" now? Mind you, if they're dead, maybe the Trade Descriptions Legislation applies?
I like your bowl and want one now for used teabags.
No news here, though after Rachel from accounts doing her thing yesterday, I'm worried about the extra tax on Rottery Acres, when it materialises. What will have to go, I wonder? The airstrip?
I'm not moving on the lake!
Meanwhile, I've just filled-in a helpful YouGov questionnaire about eco-measures we could take here to lower our fuel bills. It was very detailed. In return, I was given the forecast that we could benefit from a ground source heat pump costing between £12k and £37k.....Wow! There's accuracy!
Sadly, also accurate was the record from the trail camera last night. It dutifully snapped my walk-through at around 17.00, but took no photos after that, so I guess we had no visitors, spiny or furry. As Farway says, it's getting late in the year for hedgehogs now.
Short of photos, so I'll have to give you the raised crown on the hawthorn. Surely Mrs D can't ask me to lift it any higher now!

All this talk of canopy raising has given me some ideas with my little copse of trees on my patio - there is a Hazel I have my eye on now which will be perfect...
Loving the pink skies and rainbows! Never seen one of those before Less - the sky was hinting at beauty this morning but it didn't materialise for me I am afraid :

It's Pomander Sunday this weekend and I am out gallivanting on Saturday so I've prepped everything in anticipation including raking the leaves from the lawn into the borders. Hopefully they'll mulch down and provide a bit of shelter for anything hopeful which may peek through.
I've loved the hog house tales Dusty - Mrs D is very inventive. I think ours has hibernated as I've not seen him for a while.
My mum has white blackie which comes into her garden YBE - I'll be there tomorrow so hopefully Rome0 and I will see him on our early morning constitutional!
I love the colour of the back of your house -taff - it looks wonderful against the black of the fence. I have to say I love a black fence!!
I'm struggling to remember much else that's been going on - other than I hope PP is doing ok. All of your posts have kept me going this last week or so when I have been meeting myself coming back with one thing or another!
Have an ace weekend everyone when it gets here,
((WM))

Well it's good to know that our idle chat is doing some good Working Mum 🙂
Would love to see a white blackbird. How do you know it's a blackbird? Or is it a white bird?
Dusty I have all sorts of odd shaped little bowls. It just makes the mundane a bit more cheerful.
Farway if you grow 2 plants will you have more peppers?
I took had a silly bit of domestic nonsense. Went into city plumbing and there's a miserable guy in charge now who said that I go in lots and never buy anything (which isn't true) so he wouldn't serve me! I am still fuming but you can't change stupid.
It's been 10c all day so that's a bonus 😀
I did a tiny bit of gardening. I pulled huge weeds out of rain sodden pots which should have bulbs in. I resisted the urge to dig around and see if the bulbs have rotted so that's a job for the weekend 😐
On the plus side my poor little viburnum who's leaves crisped in the drought is tentatively putting out new ones if you look hard enough.
Won't be lovely flowers this winter though.
As is the lilly behind.

I think your sky is quite beautiful WM - I like the silvery ones
I'd never heard of a pink bow either, but apparently they are a thing, slightly disappointed that I hadn't discovered a new aerial phenomenon...Intrigued by Pomander Sunday and it's connection to raking leaves - that has been my major gardening activity (along with digging giant parsnips) for the last couple of (dull and drizzly) days!6 -
I meant to say Less, I've been looking for pink rainbows ever since your lovely photo.
Probably the same chance as photographing the kingfisher!I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Morning all
Bruce Lee musta taken a long time being born, cos the thing at the bottom of my screen says it's still his birthday
Some fab photos on here, loving the mesmerising skies, and Tales From HogCam, and pretty bowls
Well stripey socks went down badly. They too are unprofessional, further comments were made re my 'attitude problem', and I didn't laugh once! BBM said what are you poking her for, she's like a dog with a bone now and it's not funny any more. So if I make it funny it's alright...? He said she's met her match in you... Please, that woman is not my match - and he laughed
So I've added StickOn Googly Eyes to my shopping list and when himself asks me what I want for my Christmas box I'm gonna say a bright pink yellow black pair of Five Fingers shoes
We lost the cold and it's very mild here, but it's too damp with it. They keep promising wind but it doesn't materialise. Rain and humidity have stopped me washing so the machine is earning it's keep now and I'll run it all up the tumblers this aft. It says it's 8'c out there now, which is about 5' down on yesterday.
Oh and what has Rach from Accounts done to our Rottery Acres dream?! Cow. I vote we batter on regardless... and we need to keep the airstrip or how will I get out in me wee spotty plane!Honi swanky malyponze. Or something.5
