Brilliant photo, goldfinches, your friend got the timing spot on 😊
Is that plant definitely a lilac?? I’ll do a bit of googling to see if I can find a name.
One more pic from me... we have some fruit coming.
I’m sure the birds will get to them before we do 🙄
Horrible weather forecast for tomorrow 😕'A watched potato will never chit'...6 -

NB. when I put the name into google some of the sellers that come up have been flagged on this forum as dodgy so do keep your eyes open if you're purchasing.4 -
@pink_poppy thanks, I'll pass on your praise to the photographer.
I think @Paspatur has got it already so don't worry about doing the research, definitely a lilac though, flowers and leaves unmistakeable.
Lovely looking fruit, am already envying you your harvest, cage made from chicken wire used to work for me."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

On the subject of the lilac, I'll be bold and say there are 3 threads on MSE complaining about Gardening Express and You Garden were the people who provided us with badly packed plants, one of which had scale insects and the other red spider mite. These were gifts, as we wouldn't have used a relatively new mail order company like them. Others' experience with T&M may be relevant. Farway??Lovely goose photo of what I presume are very tame geese, because you wouldn't get that close to most of the goslings around here and survive!Up early today, as more gale force winds and rain are coming and the larder is bare. If I can nip into a nearby town 18 miles away (!) and be back by 11.00 I might miss the worst.....and there's more tomorrow!I had an interesting chat with a nurse yesterday who'd sought me out as she was was puzzled by things and keen to discover where she could find uncensored information. I pointed her to some sources of data and opinion that aren't easily accessible, though they should be. It was a conversation that even a year ago I could never have imagined. Some of you will know what I mean and others will be as puzzled as she was, but I can't be specific on here. It's a very odd world, right now.4

ooooh, now I'm intrigued Dave, but don't want you in the sin bin again!T & M on line plants, very much curate's egg, I think if I was splashing out, as opposed to penny pinching MSE, then I'd go elsewhere. The lilac "Sensation" does look nice but the supplier I looked at it was nearly sixty quid, which sounds like snaggy clothing would be the MSE option. I doubt it would come true from any seed but you never knowLovely goose photo, very inquisitive little thing thereI'm off soon to get some donated sunflowers planted in the volunteer border, like Dave the rain is on the way with worse to follow so hoping to get them in before it arrives, then sit back & let them be watered inNo nipping into town shopping for me, I've got Asda delivering this morning. My dinner is on that lorryEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4

I'm almost beyond saving, so it's lucky I believe in the after life, having witnessed MSE friends miraculously returning after passing to 'the other side.'
More seriously, I don't believe it's common knowledge that censorship has become very much a thing with the platforms linked to big tech, like You Tube. In the past 6 month or so, they removed content from or banned a number of contributors I follow, making them much harder to find. For example, there's a news programme that goes out from here in Devon 3x a week, which I dare not name. The people affected have moved to platforms like Brand New Tube, Odysee and Vimeo, but those are more obscure. We're not talking fruit loops here, but people with many years experience and those with the 100k subscribers award. Of course, once on the channels where some fruit loops also reside, they're not only hard to find, but it's easier to dismiss them as crackpots too.Last night I watched an extremely popular You Tube doctor with millions of views struggling to put across his latest message without transgressing whatever guidelines they have given him. The theme was medical integrity, but he was almost speaking in riddles, telling us we should stay vigilant and watch out for political and scientific tyranny. Normally, he records in his home, his office, or even his car, but last night I almost spilt tea on the keyboard when I realised he was using a green screen and the background was a huge Honesty plant!4 -
Cheers Dave, now get the the gist of it, finding information, or even being aware that there is a narrative not covered by, or obscured, by the main stream isn't common knowledge, without it becoming a conspiracy eitherI find skulking around the darker bits of the internet quite informative at times, dodging occasional nut jobs of courseEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4
