Spent much of the morning in the Village Hall eating cake, drinking tea and chatting.
We have somehow been granted custody of a Village Book full of newspaper cuttings and old photos going back to the 50s, so browsing that will be fun.
Moving rocks again this afternoon, but needs must. Our builder chap has a concrete crusher, so if I pile up all the rubble at the front he'll turn it into chippings for us.5 -
Spotted this very pretty lilac in a front garden this morning while walking home from an appointment and took a couple of photos rather than try to remember where I saw it.
It had a lovely strong scent too so I'm adding it to my wish list.11 -

Well it's raining again.I need a small pony to crop all this thick dense grass that is such a sucess from the treatment plus the rain.On the up side the blackfly haven't found my Broad Beans yet possibily because it's too wet and windy.Oh cake Dave, did I mention the enormous pink and white vanilla and whortleberry cake I say in the pasty shop? It's preying on my mind.

My rather agricultural ride-on mower just mulches, so I can cut in any conditions. It seemed like more fun than moving rocks!
When it rained, I re-potted a large fig and an olive. They've sat in the same pots for at least 5 years.I'm not really a cake person, 2p, but I had a slice of the chocolate one and then filled-up with sandwiches. The Covid Plan diet isn't going too well here; I was supposed to be about a stone lighter by now, instead of being at risk due to my specific gravity!

This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."7 -
The midges have arrived here in Argyll...
Some fab pics on here over the last few days. I love the alpacas, especially the soggy looking brown one 😍
It’s looking like a lovely sunny morning, so far anyway. We’ve had a strange mix of sunshine and heavy rain for the past week or more, with some beautiful rainbows thrown in for good measure.
I haven’t managed to get to the local bluebell wood this year, but this pic was taken last year

We have this very beautiful crab apple close to where we live. It’s absolutely laden with blossom.'A watched potato will never chit'...6 -
Plants or weeds (AKA plants growing in the wrong place)??
Anyone know what they are?? The purple ones are very pretty and are dotted around the garden, so I’m guessing they have self seeded.'A watched potato will never chit'...5
