It's needed this morning as I cut the porch carpet I've been almost immobile and it's getting to me.
New phone? I hate it with a vengeance 😬 Apple want you to do everything through them including my own music and it displays white on yellow messages so as soon as the case arrives I'm going to try and sell it. Live and learn - my old one is working fine now I've stymied all the original apps.
New Honor one is excellent if it wasn't so enormous. So aggravating being immobile, I was only thinking the other day about my enforced immobility and struggling to even get out of bed. Hope it passes for you,but I found it was time that sorted it, no magic embrocationwould you mind telling me the model of your phone, just as starting point for me?I am looking around but getting flummoxed, but this morning phone camera has started mucking about so I may need to get replacement sooner than anticipated, so with Black Friday & something Monday coming up now may be time to get one, if I can stop faffing about long enoughSnow has stopped, never settled, and now the watery sun is out, still a cut you in half wind thoughNumerus non sum4 -
This evening Farway.
I may have found lost things but don't know where the details are.
Hobbling down to phone shop to find out why I can't hear calls (raise eyebrows, swear and cross 🤞)
FARWAY, I've sent you a messageI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

We had a bit of snow last night!3
-
We had it sunny yesterday, 2p, but maybe you had a touch of the 'Pembrokeshire Dangler' and we were in the rain shadow for once?Earlier, having posted around the same time, I missed Farway's polar (bear) express ride with added smoke.
Soon, we won't know what's real any more, but will we mind when AI brings back all those old or long- dead rock stars in the prime of their lives? Then we won't have to watch 81-year-old Michael Jagger, annoyingly defying arthritis, or Cher still making moves we can now only dream about....and in heels!
However, Mrs Dusty had me making a few unplanned moves too, this afternoon. I thought she was safely out of the way, trimming her yew hedge, but the next thing I knew she'd taken it into her head to raise the crown yet again on the hawthorn that overhangs it. A few wobbly cuts from the scaffolding later, and we had firewood for a night sometime in 2027.
I've located the pictures I shot a few days ago 'before the frosts' we still haven't had, so here's one; a Persicaria which is relatively well-behaved:
It might be earlier next year.OT: Today looks like a re-run of yesterday, but with more windiness. I'll take it.
Where is pp? I'm getting worried.

So did Farway. Did you see his post? Brave chap, but chain-smokes.

Morning folks, we are getting a bit thin on the ground here. Maybe Poppy has got a job all of a sudden or sucked up by a UFO disguised as the northern lights.
Not a thing to report other than it's 1c and despite putting the heating on and cleaning the kitchen I'm still cold - but no frost.
In fact the sun is shining brightly.
So new phone the speaker isn't working, have to wait another 2 days. Can't ring anyone. The help the aged SIM card isn't working in my other phone, seems I might need to register but can't. Do you remember when you just plugged things in and they worked?
So today is a visit to the techie help place and a swim cause I can't walk but if I manage to get to the pool I may go in the sauna and not come out.
Definitely won't be any gardening in 1c and a northerly wind.
It's supposed to warm up at the weekend 🙏

Morning all, well to those still here. And belated welcome to Sparksem, who has been hanging around dormant since 2020 without posting until this November! The snow stopped, seems it was all weather freaky, even got it up North, in London
Should have been thunderstorms but too cold or summatI also spotted a bit about the Pembrokeshire Dangler, I wonder if my snow was some sort of Hampshire Hanger
No gardening, bright & sunny but blooming cold, it was the first outing of the electric blanket last night
Is there some sort of Mute button, aeroplane mode maybe?twopenny said:So new phone the speaker isn't working, have to wait another 2 days. Can't ring anyone. What once worked some now want to charge a monthly subscription for. Was it BMW who wanted a pay-monthly heated seat charge?Later yesterday PM the sun came out and I just caught this picture, from my back window, on my ailing mobile. One of those shots that is now or never, direct from phone, no fiddling, cropped a bit off sides.

Good idea about the car, not that I'm planning on going anywhere in the country to get lost or stranded but you never know...also maybe half a bottle of whisky because if you're going to be stranded, might as well be drunk to enjoy it...Lovely waterfall, maybe a bigger version at Rottery Acres...that list is growing and growing, before long it'll have to be as big as Versailles
Is that a sparrowhawk or a kite or something? Me and bird identifcation are not friends...my sister could probably tell you who it's parents are, so there's that , i will ride on her coattails...Lovely mist though..when I lived on the side of the valley you'd often see the base covered in it, while it was bright sunshine above...which reminds me, where's Lunatic?Like the persicaria, I have some but no idea what it is, looks like that but darker leaves..it's quite large too, and spreading which is good, bodes well for when I move it. I did laugh at your plns for a night in in 2027..I thought you meant swimming in the sea then 2p and nearly had a heart attack for you, but I see much more sensible and staying warm while doing it..Lovely sht Farway, your phone camera is nothing to sniff at.Cold here too, chopped up some kindling this morning, laid out the next step to have a think about it and the steps [ unintended pun] needed to get it done...level them individually, paint them, put weed fabric don, screw them in situ with a corner bracket and some insanely long screws on the outside, [charge the batteries fort though obviously], fill with blocks, top with gravel...No wonder DIY takes so long....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi5 -
Taff it's a Peregrine Falcon, not just the fastest bird but the fastest animal in the world 😀
So you see how quick I am with the camera 😉
I'd never thought of painting steps. Are you doing wood preservative or colour because you've given me ideas.
I love my accidental blue bench and pots. I saw a whole row of violet blue ones today too.
If I ever have wooden steps I'm going to paint them a colour. It's so cheery in winter.
Lovely photo Farway. I've always liked a dark sky with the sun lighting the buildings but you have an extra touch of je ne sais quoi there.
Glad you're going to be warm for the next couple of years Dusty. Better than the rest of us by the looks of it 😜
