I got my days mixed up - Lidl dwarf fruit trees are in store on Sunday...
And guess who won't have the car this weekend
Beautiful blossoms, Less and wonderful Wisteria, twopenny
I've got lots of wild strawberries popping up, Farway. They're everywhere I lookI did sample some a couple of years ago and I seem to remember they were nice, but a bit sharp.
wort, what a mess for you at work. I saw something on the BBC website about them stopping online orders. Keep smiling and ignore the stroppy customers.
I'll have to investigate Choisya.
Dusty, your robin pics were lovely
I went out into the garden this afternoon and heard a bird shriek - it was a male blackbird and my resident male had a beakful of this poor interloper's feathers so had obviously caught him off-guard - they really are so territorial at this time of year.
No gardening for me today as I've been to the dentist and then shopping. It was a nice morning, but it's spitting now and has definitely cooled down. It looks like we'll get a bit of the heatwave next week, but only 19 degrees or so, which is plenty warm enough for me...'A watched potato will never chit'...6 -
Sheesh had to go back and reread as somehow you miss some posts so apologies if I haven't mentioned things.
Been a busy and strange day today.
Overslept, someone from table tennis got carted off in an ambulance, got invited into neighbours for coffee and see heating controls and their garden (cute and clever), swimming, picnic, shopping and some gardening late.
Found I had a pot for the fountain but said fountain had loads of ants in it where I'd left it on the lawn and they all came out of the top and went for a surprise swim.
Found there's no leak in the pond, it's the fountain not sitting straight.
Trimmed and tried weeding but bits of me began to go as I'd overdone things.
Poppy those plants don't look overly cheap. But handy if you need them.
Today, the first rose of summer
I'll let you know the variety when I remember. It's one of the newer tiny varieties.
And has good fragrance.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

twopenny said:Fingers crossed that we all have more plums than we thought Dusty.I looked today, and we've potentially got something, but they aren't swelling yet.
We'll have a tomato flowering soon, though!
I put a rampant cucumber into a big pot in the polytunnel too, so we're well forward.
In answer to Dive's question, we have flowers forming on some toms, (Cherry Falls) while others are only a few cm tall (Floridity.) but that's no problem. All will have plenty of time to reach maturity. Our apples may be behind yours, Farway, but the strawberries here are flowering, just like yours. Some are self-planted runners I intended to remove, but it seems a waste now they've come this far.A cool, overcast day here, and now spitting with rain, but the rumours about 23c next week are encouraging, if not entirely believable. In the meantime, new flowers are opening each day, and it's hard to keep up. We've had our first aquilegia....blue and white. No surprise there! It's a red and white I want!
Those seem to have faded away....
Looking in the picture box this evening, I came upon this, the fallen Rosemoor hollow oak, now cleaned up and left to re-grow. People are sure it will.If/when there are signs of new life, I'll post them here.
Some of you may have seen this: https://theweek.com/environment/why-uk-scientists-are-trying-to-dim-the-sun?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-gbHmm, it appears weather modification has become mainstream now, not merely a 'conspiracy theory.' So, can we talk about it? It's surely not money-saving if it costs £50m, so the answer's probably 'No'"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity7 -

Morning all
Quite pleasant here, I've nearly all the windows open (himself is still in bed) and there's lovely fresh coolness out there - it feels like a summer's morning before the heat gets up. Lovely. 7' out there atm, high of 15 to come. They say. High of 23' forecast for Wednesday
That's plenty though, I don't need any more than that thank you.
I love the little robin pics Dusty, they're so cheery/cheeky/cheepyYour unlabelled wisteria is a beauty 2p
Maybe anonymous plants is the way to go cos at least that way they're not telling you wrong and you end up disappointed.... I hope your table-tennis friend is ok? The two-winged salute from the golfing geese made me laugh Farway
And hurray for teeny tiny plums :clapping: I'll have to lok for a verbana next time I'm near a Sainburys wort, I do like them and I'm sure I had one somewhere... That's some proper work you've done on that patch pp, what will you do with it now it's clear? Very pretty fruit blossoms Less, hopefully the weather will start behaving itself and the birds you'll get lots of fruits. Gardener's prerogative indeed
@diveunderthebonnet I'm in the NE too and I planted a lot of tom seeds about the same time as you. They'll be fine if they're somewhere sunny and warm (like a south facing windowsill). Don't let them dry out though, they grow quick when they're damp and warm and happy. I reckon you'll get toms this year no bother. When they flower move them outside so the bees can get to them, and then it'll be feeding and watering and harvesting in no time
Nothing funny happened at work this week, it's all office politics or politiks or something and we're not allowed to talk about those.
RIght himself needs to be up. I've got Domestic Nonsense and food shopping and stuff to do and I'm not having him laid in bed while I'm doing it ha haa!I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.7 -

Overslept, someone from table tennis got carted off in an ambulance, got invited into neighbours for coffee and see heating controls and their garden (cute and clever), swimming, picnic, shopping and some gardening late.I'd no idea table tennis was so dangerous, or was someone a bad loser? No roses blooming here yet.DD has some wee ones rescued from work. They look healthy and survived the winter, but no blooms on them yet.
I thought I'd had a busy day, but it seems I was coasting!Pp, that robin is so tame it would probably eat from someone's hand. Skill level for getting photos = 1.Thanks for the Lidl update. I missed your/other posts last night, forgetting to refresh.
Not a lotta news here, but we've IDed the phantom dumper in our bottom yard. The landlord of the old couple we stored plants/other stuff for, fessed-up. They thought the oldies would want the items. Yeah, we'd all love a table with no legs and a rotted out planter. Definitely worth a courier!Padlock's staying on the gate!
And in happier mode, the earlier flowering apples are bursting forth with blossom now, and it all looks positive.OT: dull, no wind, still dampish,12/13c."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity8 -
Dull & cool here, like others it's supposed to be warmer from tomorrow
Table Tennis, I can confirm it is a dangerous sport.
There are TT groups at my volunteer place and someone had teeth bashed in
Due to standing too near the person with the bat
Blame & blood went everywhere, and turned out expensive with dental work. I think bashed teeth repair was covered by bashed tooth owners tooth insurance fairyDustyevsky said:In answer to Dive's question, we have flowers forming on some toms, (Cherry Falls) while others are only a few cm tall (Floridity.) but that's no problem. My roses are still thinking about flowers, looking good but a way to go yet
Bit of a hitch with my cunning plan on planting out poppy and other bits at front this weekend, now has a blooming great pile of dog mess there, bleurgh
Maybe it'll rain & wash it in? One thing is certain, I'm not moving it so it will stay out of my sight & nose until it rots down, or the owner feels guilt pangs as they heave & gag on the way by
Peas still not planted, still too cold & dull.
Dusty, when I heard about the blocking sun out idea yesterday I thought it sounded like the opening chapter of some Sci FI book, I'm half expecting Our Arnie to appear to terminate the people behind this plan!
Isn't there another scheme with giant reflector to beam sunlight down & extend daylight cropping?
If so, seems RH not knowing what LH is doing

It infuriates me that dog owners either think it's OK to let their dog poo and not pick it up, or are paying so little attention to the poor creature that they don't notice.9
