Oh yes, let's tell Martin to suggest gazundering and tell people how to do it in next week's Tip.

There are ways to save money without turning someone's life upside down. :(

Oh come on. When prices rise, then gazumping happens. When prices are falling, then gazundering happens. House buying is not a charity.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Did you miss the bit where they agreed a reduction of £8000 for the roof and he then requested another £5000 off the price, just because, which they also agreed to?

No I didn't miss that, but the market is falling and house buying is not a charity. Wasn't it you who was recently telling us about your cheap btl you just bought? Apologies if I am thinking of the wrong person.

Yes it was. Although I can't recall the point at which I told the vendors I wasn't going to exchange unless they effectively gave me money. We agreed a price and I'm sticking to it.

But weren't you saying how you had got the house very cheap £67,000(?) and already had a long term tenant to pay you £500 per month. So you were making a nice profit? The vendor lost out and so does the tenant. I'm not saying what you are doing is wrong, but if you are going to accuse someone else of something (in this case the lack of integrity) then shouldn't you make darn sure that you can't be accused of the same thing?

Once again you are omitting important points in order to support your spurious arguments. The market price had dropped considerably by the time I asked for a further reduction. We're talking at least 10k here. As much as I'd like to live up to your wonderfully high moral standards, I'm not a charitable organisation. This was a business transaction.

I can't wait to see how you get on buying and selling houses in a falling market. You obviously haven't got the slightest idea on how to negotiate a good deal for yourself.

Eh? I've not said that no-one is allowed to profit, that really would be rich coming from me! I'm paying £1000 less than the asking price and a tenant who is paying market rent for something more secure than a simple AST. Who is losing out exactly?

I'm assuming you're not telling me to give people money?

Care to substantiate that? Or did it really cost over £1,000,000?

    You obviously can't either.

I watched asking prices for similar house drop fom 160k to 150k in the three months it took to negotiate the deal. The land registry figures for the area will confirm this when they are released.

I'm not quite sure where you got your £1000000 figure from. Probably pulled it out of your !!!! like your BTL figures.

£1000 less than asking price when conditions in the market are at their worst in 12 years. You really don't have a clue do you?
