Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) provider?
Options

Just moved into a new housing estate that is fibre only and digital phones (no phone points). Just found out it's called
Fibre to the Premises (FTTP). Just wondering whether there's a cheaper provider than BT?

If it's Openreach fibre, their list is here and includes Talktalk and Vodaphone

Some housing estates use the developer's own supplier and you're tied to them until the council adopt the roads and Openreach put in fibre or phone wires.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.1 -
Interestingly I've had FTTP since April 2018 when it was installed and commissioned by BT but most comparison or quotations that I can get are still only offering ADSL.
Even some of those on the OpenReach FTTP register don't recognise the fact the we've got FTTP and will only offer ADSL.. I had discussions with ZEN earlier this year about trying to swap over to them but they didn't have a process in place to do a transfer and advised me that I'd have to cease my service with BT and then apply to Zen. Those who are offering FTTP are not much cheaper than BT for similar services (some are significantly more expensive) - we got a good discount and £100 Mastercard when we signed up with BT and I've so far managed to get a discount off BT's prices. IMO the prices wont come down all that much until some of the bigger players (SKY, TalkTalk etc) get geared up for FTTP and proper transfer processes are in place like they are with ADSL.
BTW the best we can get on ADSL is just under 2mbit/s, I'm more than happy with 76mbits on my FTTP. Several of my neighbours are getting 150 or 300mbit/s but 960 is on offer from BT if I wanted it. AFAIK everyone except one is with BT - the odd one managed to set up an FTTP trial with PlusNet(he was an existing customer) but it's not being offered by PN for new customers at the present time.
You may be interested in this regarding migration - it's a few months old but shows the state of the process when I was trying to migrate, although I do feel than some providers make it more difficult than it should be.

EE have just started offering it as well.
I suspect that if you get the new user BT incentives, cashback, prepaid credit card etc, and new user discount then BT will be the cheapest at least for the lower speeds. EE with a cashback site might just beat them sometimes. After your BT contract has ended and they put the price up then who knows.1 -
Just found this on line, it seems to be providers who aren't using openreach infrastructure so it might be useful for those who are struggling to get a supplier especially those who are on new developments where the builder or developer has contracted a non-openreach supplier to provide the fibre infrastructure

You can get well in excess of £100 cashback for BT installations through Quidco and I'm sure similar with Topcashback. We also got a prepaid card from BT with £120 on it as part of the sign up deal a couple of years ago. It all adds up to a decent saving on the monthly cost.1

NO. Especially if signing up to BT's FTTP offers such as these:

I guess they need a big enough area to be be cabled and enabled to make it worth their while making an offeringNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Ah ok, in that case they probably don’t have the exchange capacity to support the faster fttp services in your area, even if TalkTalk FTTC is available. I recently managed to get TT FTTP so I guess I must have been one of the lucky ones!0
