Ticket for entering car park and leaving - 6 minutes

Hi All
After looking for a place to park, I stumbled across a car park managed by Parking Eye. I parked my car, walked over to the ticket machine and saw the prices were far too high, so I decided to try somewhere else. From entering the car park, walking to the machine, going back to my car and leaving the car park, 6 minutes had passed and I've had a PCN posted to me for £60 going to £100 after 14 days.
I appealed to Parking Eye directly expecting them to understand I was only there for 6 minutes and I originally looked to buy a ticket until I saw their prices. This was rejected.
Surely someone has the right to refuse their services once they see the price? Anyhow I can now only appeal to POPLA and from what I've seen online, my chance of success is slim as I have no evidence to back my case.
Should I just pay even though I was there for 6 MINUTES? Or try to appeal to POPLA?
Thanks

you have their evidence , 6 minutes , plus the BPA CoP on grace periods, january 2020 edition , clause 13when you consider the delays then 6 minutes is not unreasonable, you may have had to find a space to park and delayed on exit for exampleit used to be 10 minutes, not 5 minutespopla may or may not accept your argument , but a judge might0

Of course you appeal to POPLA. This is what the NEWBIES thread covers at post #3.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Even ParkingEye, who I've a minor modicum of respect for doing the right thing in marginal cases, are capitalising by squeezing the BPA Code of Practice pips to the max. I'm sure a Judge won't be impressed. I'd bet a packet that there is no signage on site that instructs/warns motorists that they are in a 'race for their life' to beat the utterly impossible 5 minutes consideration period or suffer a £100 penalty.Have you got your own photos of the signage? If not, go get! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
