I can't see that the consequences of 'forgetting' to declare it for a fifth year would be much different from the four that have already elapsed. No free lunch, and no free laptop

As the OP is still with the same insurance company that they have been with for at least 4 years, there must be some reason for them to suddenly want to see their driving licence and get a code to see their electronic information and in the past the OP may well have got away with "forgetting" to declare the points, and it would be very hard for the insurers to prove deliberate deception.
Maybe the insurers have somehow become aware of this conviction (the OP obtaining an online quote maybe? or perhaps someone else informed them) but whatever the reason, now that it appears that the insurers have a suspicion, failing to advise them of their earlier forgetfulness could well be seen as fraud rather that a simple slip of the mind.
It might be a simple check carried out at random, then again?0 -
Or, perhaps, their internal processes have simply flagged they don't have this policyholder's DL number on record, and they would now like to complete the data held.Day_Of_The_Doris said:As the OP is still with the same insurance company that they have been with for at least 4 years, there must be some reason for them to suddenly want to see their driving licence and get a code to see their electronic information and in the past the OP may well have got away with "forgetting" to declare the points, and it would be very hard for the insurers to prove deliberate deception.

It's quite a few years now that insurers have been asking - but it's entirely possible that somebody who took out a policy 9yrs ago and has simply renewed it blithely every year since has just never provided it.0 -
Dear OP
Is it possible for you to tell us what the outcome was as it could help others that had forggten like you.
Many thanks.

And if he kept schtum for another year, lying to his insurers about a speeding ticket and got away with it (I'd guess this is a probable outcome). Do you really think that is the best advice MSE could promote?sweetsand said:Dear OP
