Thankyou @Ashleighlouwatts those missing units would add about £100 to your annual bill ie about £700. Add in standing charges and some VAT gives about £900 a year. So your DD is more than covering this you will be in credit.
Where I think his initial confusion has come from is your interpretation of your online account. These 6 monthly setups show on line as whatever credit/debit was there perhaps 6 months ago and also the DD credited in the meantime - it does not include the cost of energy ! That means say that you could look at your online account today and see perhaps a £500 balance; if the energy cost is included tomorrow - in your case 6 months is about £450 - that balance suddenly becomes £50.
You really should not be on a standard tariff - there ae far better options available with your present supplier and others.
Get yourself on a tariff that bills monthly - much easier to keep track of what's going on.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
I had a run-in with SSE a couple of years ago about the absence of monthly billing, and this is what they said:You are billed on a quarterly basis, therefore you will receive a bill every 3 months. I understand you have requested a monthly bill, however unfortunately this is not something we are able to do at present, as mentioned, We regularly review our procedures to improve our standards of service and we particularly note any comments customers make when our service is not satisfactory.Fortunately I got out from under them quite quickly after that. Now is the time to feed your figures into a comparison site, and switch to a better tariff with monthly billing0
