Massive electricity bill SSE

Hiya,
Can anyone help please?
We have been with SSE for around a year and a half. Unfortunately my partner has only just told me how much he's been paying for electricity (only) £94 a month. We live in a one bedroom apartment in Somerset. Anyway, we had checked the online app together around a month ago and a credit of £502.57 was supposed to be coming back to us. We received £146.07 and the rest was taken by SSE for our 6 monthly bill. My question is - how can our bill be so incredibly high for a one bedroom apartment? Not only have we been paying £94 monthly for the last 6 months we have then had a final bill (for those 6 months) of £355.87 which has been taken for the supposed credit!
I have checked our metre readings and they are correct although massively high!! This also makes no sense to us. Our last metre reading taken last week is Day:59071
Night:17577
I have tried to do a uSwitch but can't due to the readings being so high and I quote that of a business! Pleas help. What can we do? Any advice appreciated and welcome. Thank you.

Your meter readings may be day 59071 and night 17577 but that is meaningless because we don't know what they were a year and a half ago. What readings are you using to do a uSwitch?0

The readings you quote are not your consumption - they are the total consumption since the meter was put in.
Tell us what the readings were when you set up your account with SSE 18 months ago.
What happened 6 months ago when SSE told you that the original fix was running out ? Did you just ignore it ? In whaich case you have been on their standard (ie expensive tariff since then)
PS £100 a month for an all electric flat is not far off the mark.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

The £355 amount is after they've taken £94 a month too!

Thank you for your comment. We also pay gas for the property. Unfortunately, they didn't tell us anything about running out. Yes, as I found out today we are on their standard tarrif.0 -
Can we have those opening readings please ?
The end of fix message would have been by email.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

Does this help at all?0 -
Yes that gives 3560 daytime ?units in 22 months . @ say 16p = £600
What about the night time reading when you switched ?
and you've gas as well. !
E7 is probably not the best of tariffs for you.
