True Talldave - I mixed up my totals and an annual.- still £600 pa.(thats on peak)

We don't actually know if this is E7 or the two registers added together.  @Ashleighlouwatts - what is your tariff.?

I presume that the OP has one of those billing arrangements where the monthly DD get shown online but the energy used doesn't get shown until  the system gets a meter reading - it gives a false impression of a healthy credit.

So do I now! In my defence that was before first caffeine intake of day, and I tried to memorise the numbers whilst switching to my tablet's calculator app.

@Ashleighlouwatts Is your SSE bill a combined one for gas and electric ?
No it's not. We have a separate bill for gas!! £28 a month.

    Hi,
is that £28 a bill or your DD payment?
Your DD goes in to your kitty and builds up a healthy balance, then when your provider generates a bill/statement, maybe every 3 months or so,  that amount is taken from your kitty, and you start to build up again.

@Ashleighlouwatts  Post us a copy of your latest gas bill please - blank out the private info.

Like @[Deleted User]    I wonder if you are misreading your bills. A £28 DD is not an all you can use tariff.

So we pay via direct debit monthly
    £94 electric
    £28 gas

We are billed 6 monthly. We live in a one bedroom apartment and both work full time so there is no way our bills should be this high surely. We have not got any new electrical products in the last 6 months etc.
