This is exactly what I am saying: I go to live abroad = move out. For that I do not need to get divorced.

My parents live abroad, and I can live with them.

Still the question remains, how are you going to support yourself? Would your wife really want you gone for a year or more (you can't just come back after six months otherwise it will have to be a joint claim)? It will be hard to claim anything yourself once you've finished having been out of the country for so long.

Maybe you should look at freelancing to increase the household earnings above the threshold at which they expect you to job search.

it might be too high for a single person's UC amount.

That's true. And if they're renting and she's under 35, her housing allowance would drop to the shared room rate.
