Universal Credit: Can only my wife claim it?

My wife and I made a joint claim. We are both already getting Universal Credit as a couple.
I have heard that married couples must make a joint claim.
My wife is employed, but I am not. I have to show UC that I am looking for jobs, but right now I am writing a book and I do not want to work.
My question: Can our UC joint claim be converted to a single claim, that is, only my wife would keep getting UC, so that I could be left alone to write my book and would not have to look for jobs?
