I suggest you move on with your life as I doubt anyone is going to listen to any complaints.stig22 said:Hi,
Can someone help me understand if my estate agent has acted illegally in sharing my contact details in relation to GDPR.
I am due to move out of our rented property and asked if the new tenants would like to take on our broadband so we could change it into their name. The new tenants then emailed us saying the estate agent had passed on our contact details (email address) to discuss the broadband. We never approved the sharing of our email address but the estate agent obviously passed it on regardless. Is it illegal or in breach of contract to pass on my contact details without permission?
 thanks
The agent is likely to pretend you gave verbal permission.

This disgusting type of behaviour really needs stamping out. The OP should 999 it immediately.1

Er... how on earth did you think the next tenants were going to take over your broadband without having your contact details? Via telepathy?
The fact that you raised the issue with the EA’s implies you were OK with them making contact.1

I will confess I was upset my EA viewing agent gave my mobile number to a viewer, who offered later that day, and proceeded to bombard me with texts starting at 11.30 pm. I was in bed but did respond as I keep my phone on, in case of emergency. Few weeks later he couldn't prove his funds, sadly, and withdrew.£216 saved 24 October 20140

It is potentially a breach, but you have no loss as a result so nothing much will happen0
