i have now been getting Parking fine letters, demanding payment from a debt recovery agency, acting on MET parking Service.
You have no right to open such letters and should write "moved away" and put back in the post box.0 -

Be a right pain by refusing to belive (sic) you are not the person they seek and cause you to spend a lot of time/money sorting it out?
That would be exceedingly unwise of them. It is more likely that any/all monies spent would be theirs, I do not suffer fools gladly.

Of course landlords have every right to open mail addressed to ex tenants. Recently I received six letters addressed to someone whose name I did not recognise. They were all from DCAs I concluded that the address may have been used to obtain dodgy credit. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

Hi all..
so an update.
today an 'enforcement officer' ( High Court Enforcement Officer on letter, so was not sure if its the Courts) came to my address, while i was at work.
my neighbor mention that the officer took a picture of a car on my drive ( my partner)
Yes, i open the letter as i now can guess what it was about and the envelope was all red saying immediate attention needed....
( first time was unintentional, i got a bunch of letters that day and just open them)
i am going to call the officer and explain again, and talk face to face, if that help.
does anyone one know a website that tells me my rights, when it comes to bailiffs.
i understand that i do not have to let the officer in my house if he asked to come in, right.? i have no issues with this.
the officer can not assists on take anything from my house, leaving me to prove its mine?
can the officer take something of higher value, like a car to cover the fine?
sorry for the questions, i just do not want to be taken for a mug, i am trying to do the right thing, but now think i need to be a little tougher, i do understand the bailiff/officer has a job to do.

But, is it for the parking ticket(s) or something else your tenant got up to ?2

If you have bailiffs calling then this has gone past the original questions you asked.and it is serious , you need to find what the letter is saying .... who you owe money to.This is probably a second issue council issue ... motoring ??? .... council tax ???get that advice NOW.Ralph
