Tenant moved out, but car fines at my address.

I rented out a room to a tenant, who i had no issues with.
i have now been getting Parking fine letters, demanding payment from a debt recovery agency, acting on MET parking Service.
i have already contacted them, by post, to say the drive doe not live at the address, and provided another address. yet i got another letter and no response to my letter.
The fine was about a year back.
anything else i can do. i do not want debt recovery officer come knocking at my door.
i will email them, so i will have proof.
I wanted to know, what else i can do. Can Officer just come to my place if the tenant no longer live here?

As a landlord I have had dozens of such letters, from councils, train companies, dcas, TVL, and even bailiffs knocking on the door. Just write them a letter, there is nothing they can do to you.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2

Complain to the BPA that you have told them the driver doesn't live there and yet MET are bothering you at your address.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

It is not a fine.
You could ignore everything, or send an email rectification notice to the DPO of both MET and DRP. You could also write something like, "not known at this address" on the envelopes and put them in a post box. Do complain to the BPA though.
You do not need to provide a forwarding address, but you could contact the former tenant and tell them about the invoices since they risk getting a court claim and default CCJ if they don't respond to the letters.
No officer will come and visit unless they are court appointed bailiffs with a court order following a court case. Even if they did, they can't take goods belonging to anyone other than the person named on the court order.
Debt collectors have no powers whatsoever.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks2 -
nothing you will do will have any effect
simply let the letters time out2 -
Are the letters actually addressed to you by name? If not, what are you doing opening them? Are you/were you involved with the vehicle in any way?0

If you can, forward it on to the tenant, because people have been stung by CCJ's getting entered against them with no contest (supposedly). If 'debt collectors' ever did knock send them away with some null explanation (obviously you are not liable for a past tenant). In the probably unlikely event of bailif or high court officer, just don't let them in under any circumstances and call cops if they enter your house via a peaceable entry (they always call cops on TV) - this is all unlikely and would require court cases to have occurred.BTW - I agree you with you being proactive and checking up on stuff like this, in theory it's not your business so you should not be troubled, but these types of people can't be relied upon not to be a painin the neck.1

What is BPA stand for?or in terms of parking, BPA= The British Parking Association limited , established 1968 ( would be interesting to see if any toys would be thrown out of the pram from who has the rights to use the BPA name)The parking one is a private members trade association who are there to represent their members - mostly private parking companies (PPCs) and assist them / enable those PPcs to make money - usually from the issuing of so called parking charge notices which are not to be confused with penalty charge notices.Alkid, if you have the correcct address, or any contact for whose these private pakring charges are addressed to, i would, as a favour get in touch with them and point them at this forum, as the way PPCs operate they will issue court papaers to someone even if they are not 100% sure of a correct address - as the victim doesn't know of these court claims they end up with a default judgement against them and eventually a CCJ which can cause all sorts of issues.I would also strongly recomend that you hang around on here a little and see what exactly these PPCs are upto, gain a little knowledge, help others and save yourself some money should you fall victim.
