Hi all,
I promise I have read several posts including faqs and similar posts but must confess I found it all a it confusing and wondered if someone could help directly.
I was parked at Crown Point in Leeds weekend before last for just over two hours. I might have left site (however that is defined) but I also attended several shops on site for which I have receipts.
As per site advice I immediately challenged it with site owners Jones lang laselle. That was not replied to but I did get a reply from someone claiming to be security. Stating as I did leave site (no evidence given as to how) I would be liable for the parking charge.
I am not the owner of the vehicle. It is a company car. It is now 12 days since the window fixed charge notice. My company are known for immediately paying things like this and just passing the cost on to the employees next wage. Obviously I am keen to stop this happening.
Is my next step as laid out in afcis to challenge the parking company (ukpc) direct or appeal again to the site owners.
Many Thanks

Both , but no blabbing about who was driving
Read the Edna basher advice about company vehicle's , bottom of the first post in the newbies FAQ sticky thread
There are 3 templates you can adapt one and appeal it to ukpc , as lessee of the vehicle , so use the most appropriate example
And I repeat , no mentioning or implying who was driving
The royal WE is good enough if you need to explain anything , but no mentioning about anyone leaving a site , even though they cannot prove the leaving site argument for various reasons , explained in other leaving site threads4 -
Many judges condsider this is rivial and it may even be an unfair term in a consumer contract, read these,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_minimis#:~:text=De minimis is a Latin, refuses to consider trifling matters.
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2015/15/contents/enacted
Any PPC tasking this to court is likely to struggle imo.
There are moves afoot to curb this unreguated indusstry, so complain to your MP.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -
As instructed in first comment I have sent message to site owner JLL strongly urging them to cancel the ticket. Will report back when heard. It is 12 days since the charge, should I also send notice to ukpc today?1

Do it around day 25 following the windscreen PCN , appealing as a lessee , because you do not want them checking the DVLA database and issuing an NTK to the RK2

Get hold of the person in your company responsible for fleet cars and instruct them that you are dealing and they should not pay the speculative invoice. They should respond to the PPC and advise them that you are the lessee (not driver).5

In the case of a company car or hire car, if you get a windscreen ticket and cannot get it cancelled by the landowner (PLAN A above), appeal within the first 2 weeks, well before day 21. This is in order to hook the PPC in your direction, before they get a chance to get the keeper's details from the DVLA.
With this being a company car should I not be appealing now? Why is your advice to wait till day 25?
Thanks again.

I am one of the few people here who will always always appeal a "left site" ticket immediately
care parking will decline it first appeal, (always) and they are always won at POPLA
UKPC always cancel left site tickets when challenged
these cases i can win with eyes closed, they dont need any faff, a couple of lines for both appeals, its so simple, it doesnt need lots of replies and it frustrates that there is a bit of dogmatic approach to tickets sometimes

IMO it is an unfair term. Supposing ones £300 Panama blows off site, does one not run after it?You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

If you go to the NEBWIE sticky, start at the beginning and scroll down until you see some blue text, that is the standard appeal for when you are the RK, just below that are three more appeals written by @Edna_Basher specifically for lease type cars.4
