    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."
  • i just opened one too, why not eh!

Pay Off Debts by Xmas 2025 debt £0/7400
  • And why not! Thanks for letting us know.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • Thanks!

I've set my direct debit to begin on October 1st, reckon this will be okay or does it have to have a payment in September seeing as I've applied today?

You mean standing order but that date is fine.

The application screen gave you the range of possible dates the first standing order could be made and that easily fits into it.

Others will have tried to eke out a decimal place of a pound by setting the first s.o. ASAP but I've done the same as you for easiness such that all future ones should leave on the first too.

£50 a month? Is it worth it, must be less than a tenner in interest over the year.

And it's 3% variable, so they could change it anyway.

It says 3% up to first £1,000, so assume it has no end date like other regular savers.

Not worth opening a Natwest account for though

@unkle - you were right

It's a no brainer for those of us with a NatWest c/a IMO.

Coupled with the same account for RBS it's taken minutes to open.
