Not sure what to enter, did an on-line Morrisons shop, friends wanted laundry liquid, the big Ariel was on offer £5 instead of £9, ordered 8 for them, they will pay me, no problem there.
I ordered 12 lemon tonic water and 12 lime, both 3 for £1.20, the lime came out at £4.80, but the lemon £5.10, not worried about 30p but would like an explanation, awaiting response to my email.
Will go with £9.90 for now.Do I need it or just want it.2 -
Hi, much belated but hoping I could join the October challenge? I've been following the Grocery Challenge on my own for a few months but found that in September I completely lost any mojo I had for it, and prefer not to think about how much I spent
My budget for October is £400 which - as it's a five week month and runs from 28th Sept to 1st November for me - I'm splitting into a weekly amount of £80 as I find this easier to manage. This is all meals for 2 adults, an 11 year old and a 9 year old (although the 11 year old has school lunches which he enjoys and come out of a separate budget), cleaning supplies, loo roll and alcohol. Last week I spent £85.03 so slightly over which was down to a trip to Ikea and unplanned purchase of meatballsSo far this week I have spent £63.92 between Aldi and Waitrose.

No time to make bread this week and run out of milk so went to the shops. Only other bits I got were YS mushrooms, will go in tonight's stir-fry and some spinach as we've run out. No treats and no extras 😀

Hello, I'm about late, but can I join in, please?. Massive overspend last month, so would appreciate some camaraderie in the spirit of accountability. Want to set a budget of £150 for 2 adults. So far £26.20 spent.
Have raided the freezer tonight, and found some turkey steaks. Thought about dashing out for a packet sauce, but shall whizz something up with soy, fish sauce, ginger, chilli, lemongrass and peanut butter, have a stir fry!Keep reading books!

£35 in Lidl, first spend of the month. £215 left. Only bought one item for the freezer (frozen veg) as trying to make space by using the meat we already have in.

Well, in the first 7 days of October I've spent £42.20. Of this, £20 was at the butchers and should last me 4-6 weeks. I went to the market in the county town today and spent just under £10 on some local russet apples, cheese and butter, lemons, mushrooms and a big bunch of coriander. The rest was spent in Adli and Sains. Hopefully, I should only need milk and eggs over the next two weeks.Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget3

For us in October but I’m hoping it’s closer to €200 especially with the amount of things we’ve got in stock (nappies, wipes, household items) that usually bring the budget up. As it’s turning colder I’m making use of our slow cooker too
over several shops this month. Freezer is quite full so mainly fresh items:money::rotfl::T3 -
Hello all and special welcome to the new people from me, more moral support for hammering down the budget is always appreciated.
Spent £4 on new muslins to make yoghurt cheese today as old cloths were revealed as more holes than cloths IYSWIM.Then went to Sainsbobs with list and almost kept to it too except that they had moved herbs and spices to a new location and rearranged the display which despite my muttering feverishly to myself about "it's a temptation tactic" did persuade me to spend more money.
So I'm now at £157.63/£190.
"My name is goldfinches and supermarkets know just how to persuade me to part with my cash" will be found engraved upon my heart I fear, oh well, off to bed, tomorrow's another day. Night all, goldfinches."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

Well yesterday was fun! Up at five am, to load pigs into trailer. Our car had not been fixed in time so; Hour journey in neighbours ancient and very uncomfortable Landrover, with the dog on my knee. One pig tried to make it's escape at the abatoir, I had to chase her all around the yard! Equally uncomfortable hours drive home. Morning spent playing with DGD2. After lunch DD3 on driving lesson so did big monthly shop. Total of £81.98 spent across five shops. Plenty of bargains to be had at veg shop and cash and carry. Picture of veg, you can't quite see the five lettuce and two cucumber at the top. Cash and carry, 12 finger rolls, 4 Chelsea buns, packet of chiabbata, (sp) 18large wraps, litre salad dressing, 2kg cottage cheese, 4 large plain yogurt, 6 balls mozerrella, tapas, 2.27it wholemeal mustard. Total £14.64. Lots of cottage cheese salad this week! Mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.2

Forgot to mention. Our Farm foods has 10kg boxes domino chicken breasts for £19.99. Good value even without staff discount. Don't know if these are nationwide. HTH, mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.3
