Does anyone know if I could open this with say £100 and then add money to the account later on once it is all open?
I have a RS with them so figured this be easier to do and if worst case happens and they drop the interest I'd just take most of the money out and then place elsewhere.  It doesn't say you can make multiple payments so just wanted to check I can as opposed to only being allowed 1 payment.
    Thanks
    Kev
  • Yes, you can. Deposit as many times as you like.

Thanks, just applied, account showed up instantly as applied through being logged i so they had most of the info needed.  The account showed up instantly but the interest rate shows 0% gross weirdly, perhaps as no money in it yet?  I've setup the payee from my nominated bank and made a small payment which has yet to show up so will check tomorrow to ensure its all ok before I transfer more funds to it.
    Thanks again!

Same with mine, showed 0% intially, shows correct interest rate when deposit made.

Thanks, how long did it take for your initial deposit to show up? I did mine and i logged in and out couple of times but still no money in the account.
I'm hoping once my initial deposit shows up, future deposits are quicker as they are when transferring between other accounts with different providers.
    Thanks

Put an initial payment in to check, wasn't showing after an hour, but did after two hours. Made subsequent larger deposit which showed up in an hour.

..I think they may be getting busy? Luckily I had an "old" account that I thought I had emptied when they dropped their rates earlier this year, but I have just checked and found they had added a couple of quid interest, so I am still a current customer! I have now opened a new account and will be transferring all my NSI "Income Bond" money into it sometime tomorrow...

Just transferred  this year's cash ISA (in Coventry) to double access. Will probably transfer it back before 5th April, or sooner if rate drops.

I did just that yesterday; initial £100 showed up a few hours later and subsequent transfer of larger amount went onto my account in about 2-3 hours.
  • I have just applied and they are sending me a paper application form  :#

Presumably they couldn't verify my identity electronically despite previously holding an account with them.
Still waiting for my paper application to arrive  :(
