My also concern is that the T&Cs refer to
" You’ll pay a daily standing charge and unit rate for each fuel on this tariff.", but the table in the letter states 0p per day. So which is it?
Apparently the wonderful Ofgem have required all tariffs to have a standing charge, but it can be 0p.
  • I am in the process of reviewing myself.  I've not received a copy of the email, posted on another discussion thread (had work emailed, which rejected it, and at this stage no way of contacting BG to find out more).  My initial contract with Ebico expires ends of Nov on the fixed zero v3.  It seems some Ebico/RObin Hood have contracts fixed to the end of August may or July.  I dont want to make a decision yet until I receive the letter but also need to get in contact with BG anyhow to update them of my email address other will continue to be sent to work email which I cannot access!
Please can anyone advise of an contact number which may have been listed on their email from BG and even perhaps an dedicated email address?
    Many thanks

The # quoted in the letter is

    0333 202 9878
See also britishgas.co.uk/robinhood (can't add links properly on my mobile)

I can't say I'm impressed with their contact us options on the website.

  • The BG email was a noreply address. Specific to me and a link I had to click on to accept.

Today I received a text message from British Gas saying,

Hi there, Robin Hood Energy has asked us to take over your supply when they close and we've promised to at least match your current tariff . Please check the email or letter we sent you to accept your exclusive new British Gas energy tariff before Robin Hood closes.

I haven’t had any email or letter with an offer from British Gas, can anyone advise or give any suggestions for me on what I could do please.
  • Same here. I got that text squiggles.  I contact BG on Monday to advise the email associated with my Ebico was wrong.  At the time the operative advised she would pass on internally my new email account so a new "welcome to BG" email would be generated.  So far not received anything.  When I received the same email above as squiggles I contacted GB again on 0333 2029878 and I was told a different story and that I have to contact Ebico/Robin Hood, to give them my updated email address and for them to send back over to BG. I've not been able to get hold of Ebico/Robin Hood.  Somehow I think I will be going round in circles.  So I have no idea what tariff I'm now with them (although they say it will be the same) so therefore would not be able to give Ebico my closing reading to ensure I'm not overpaying.  Very frustrating.  Can never seem to speak to anyone in charge.  If anyone can offer help, names of anyone in charge please do advise.  Many thanks

I haven’t been able to get through to Ebico or B.Gas when I tried several times during the day, but I wasn’t able to stay on the phone for long because I was trying during my work breaks.

I finish work early on Friday so I’ll try again and report back here.

My Ebico V4 until 28th Nov and is quarterly billing paid on receipt of bills so I should really have been contacted by letter. My next bill date from Ebico/RobinHood would have been due 22nd October.

  • It seems that British Gas are impossible to get in contact with!
I ended up making a complaint,  and when they finally can back they repeated their lie and asked for the same information I had already sent then on two separate occasions.   This doesn't look like it's going to be a good move from a customer service perspective.

    Got sorted eventually.

British Gas are sending me a new letter and I should receive it in 7 working days.
