TomTom ONE GB Sat Navs for £127 with £10 voucher or cheaper with ClubCard deals

Hi Folks,
I just wanted to say that the TOM TOM one is excellent for anyone considering buying a sat nav.
I've had one since last Christmas and its dead easy to use which is just as well with me :j
Also there is a company on the web here that sells membership to enable users to get the speedcamera database download.
This is a file that you download direct to your pc, then transfer to your sat nav via the cable you should have received when you bought your sat nav.Alternately you can load it direct on to the detachable memory card if you have Tom Tom v1 or v2.
Now the membership is £19 a year but in theory (and empaphise 'in theory' as i dont want to encourage you to break the law) if several people wanted the speed camera database, you could get together, one person buy the membership then send the file out by email to the other 'partners'.
eg if 10 of you get together then its only gonna cost you £1.90 each.
I think you get my drift
Anyway if you just want it for yourself (or whatever) its here

Have bought a Tom Tom One XL for UK + Ireland today actually in Halfords for £149 - £20 off for a couple of days apparently. The XL is the one with the bigger screen (4.3) They say that if you need a run through and help installing you just need to go in with your receipt. For peace of mind this is worth it to me. I have hardly used my digital camera at all because the instruction booklet is not at all easy to follow. Also I have heard pretty good things about the Sony Sat Nav particularly in relation to cost. Word has it though that the Tom Tom locks on to a satellite at much faster speed when you are starting off0

A great deal on prices is all very well ... but does it do wot it says on the box? I bought a Fujitsu Siemens Pocket LOOX, recommended on MSE. Went from Oxford to Carlisle & back yesterday. On the way there it took me off the M6 too soon so had an uexpectedly scenic but enjoyable meander through the Lakes . On the way back, rather than onto the M42, it took me off the M6 motorway and diverted me to the centre of Birmingham where both it & I got lost and took an hour to get back to the M42 . Are Tom Toms any better? If not, don't throw your maps away!0

I wonder if anyone can help me. Does anyone know of a Tom Tom or alternative, with europe maps and a bluetooth facility? I've tried looking and their all beginning to look the same!!!!

I was interested in the TomTom One V3 but i found out it doesnt come with Bluetooth and niether does it have a memory slot. Not a major problem, but would like something with Bluetooth.
So i looked at the TomTom One XL, which of course has Bluetooth, but without the hands free calling!!! Which is a bit pointless really!!!
So then i looked at the TomTom Go 520 Which is priced at £202 on Amazon, and has an FM Transmitter, Memory Slot, Bluetooth with Hands free calling, Voice recognition instructions, and also you can have your own voice directing you. It will also say what road you are turning onto instead of just turn left.
I also think it reads of your text messages from your phone if its connected via bluetooth.... but dont quote me on that.
The thing with TomTom is that the new ones which have come out which are the TomTom One V3, TomTom One XL V3, TomTom Go 520 and the TomTom 720??? is that they have the new Sirff chipset in them, which apparantly is the future of GPS???0 -
The TT 520 is the best on the market by a long way, it does read your text messages but is not compatible with all Sony Ericsson phones so do check the Tomtom website....but the 520/720 range is cutting edge technology in terms of future GPS. Worth paying that little extra for, and for £202 from Amazon who can argue?! :T0

Does the 520 include traffic alerts? I was going to buy the one xl GB traffic.0
-
You can get the 520 with traffic alerts from Amazon for £238.99 :j0
-
its only £196 on halfords with some halfords voucher and 4% quidco! im just worried that it will go down in price after crimbo!0
-
With traffic alerts £196? Save your cash for 19 days then who knows it may go down an extra £30
if it is £196 with traffic alerts then its a real steal! 0
